Maybe one day when I have enough users. This going in a datacenter so I'll have lots of room to expand just by changing cpu and adding memory in the future.

I just realized I haven't posted my build since my last update. I ended up hating my initial X570 board from MSI. They really cut the corner on their PWM for everything below the X570 Ace so my X570 Gaming Edge Wifi always ran hot and would back off its PBO's all the time. I saw that as a weird sort of apology MSI dropped probably the best X570 motherboard a couple of months later, the Unify. I knew I wanted to upgrade to that board with all the upgraded PWM of their top end boards and most of the goodies like WiFi 6 and 2.5G ethernet but without the RGB bling. So I figured if I'm upgrading motherboards I may as well buy a 3950X since one came in the same moment I was buying the board from a brick and mortar. God made me do it I swear jks.I still can't believe how good the 3950X is. Anything tasks I throw at it just gets shredded, it's really a HEDT chip trapped in a home PC body. Anyways, here is my current build.

AMD Ryzen 9 3950X (stock in PBO mode, fastest way to run it anyways)
    MSI X570 Unify Motherboard
    4 x 8 GB G Skill Trident Royale 3600 mhz memory
    MSI 2080Ti Gaming X Trio
    Corsair MP600 PCI-E 4.0 2 TB drive
    Fractal Celsius 240mm AIO
    Corsair HX750 PSU
    Corsair 275R midtower
    Windows 10 Pro

Nice. Did you see the Linus shenanigans when he tried to build an Epyc based NVME storage?

I bought mine at microcenter. If you can find a lower price from a reputed dealer you can have them price match. Otherwise, you can apply and use the Microcenter CC which gives you an extra 5% off every purchase. I use it only when I can immediately pay it off because the interest is stupid, but the savings (albeit small) are still nice, especially after you price match all of your components. They also always have a bundle savings when you buy a MOBO and CPU together.

I had an old windows 7 premium key from an old tower I was no longer using and used it to get rid of the watermark.

I think It's going to be mobo, cpu, and ssd first. There's a good chunk of changes taken off if I go to microcenter. I'll have to see if I can take advantage of the gpu sale on newegg

Is there any downside to running purely on an SSD? Currently have no HDD in my computer. Samsung 860 EVO 2TB.

Storage isn’t as cheap, that’s it AFAIK.

Yeah I got it a while back when Amazon had them on a really good sale so it wasn't bad.

Well I know that there is a read/write limit before they fail, which is a big number, so it'll last a long time, but idk. I just don't want my stuff to prematurely fail since I run everything from a single SSD.

No disadvantage. Actually a SSD fails predictably. If you download the SSD manufacturers software it'll usually tell you almost to the day when your SSD or SSDs will fail.

HDDs give up at random and are therefore less reliable on average.

It's fine. RGB is a personal preference. I like RGB as long as it matches the rest of the build. Shitty wiring with RGB looks horrible.

How often do fans crap out? I'm sure outside of hearing them, being able to visually inspect them must be convenient.

... Is what I'm telling myself
