My new nutrition plan started today, and man it is weird compared to what I was doing. 3500 cals on lift days, 3300 on off days, way more fruits and veggies and gut health foods, plus lots of foods and supplements for blood sugar and insulin support. Pickled beats WTF?!?

I spent about 3 hours cooking and prepping everything yesterday and not gonna lie, it was a little intimidating... I will be able to improve my process as I figure out what works over the next month, but I'm excited to see how this goes.

Main goal right now is to focus on recomping some fat and keeping strength up, while focusing on gut health and keeping bloat/inflammation down. I was doing basically just meat and rice before so this is a huge change.

Also yeah, fuck these beets... I bought beet root pills just incase I can eat these lol

I like grilling fresh carrot and beet slices, low heat and it takes some time, but, IMO, better than plain cooked or baked.

Does 3500/3300 put you in deficit? According to my numbers I would be in deficit with that.

It may be a very slight deficit. I have a pretty sedentary job though, so I really only use burn calories when at the gym for 2 hours.

Interesting, I thought my job was semi-sedentary, you must work in an office environment.

everybody fails at some point (if they tell you they dont they're lying). i think its part of the process. The best feeling is like a week or so later when you can surpass the weight or reps you failed on. Its a great feeling.

no weights for me yesterday but I did do a bunch of hiking around this weekend and some of it was pretty steep. I think that the weights have helped me out quite a bit though in the muscle recovery department. Had I done what I did this weekend before I devoted myself to my fitness habit I think my legs would have been shot after the first day of hiking around. This time I still felt great even after two days of it. w00t!

Yep, an office and a car when travelling for inspections. I will walk around facilities but its nothing strenuous.

I walk a little every hour or so, especially after meals

Makes sense, my days vary, today I’m helping put out about 1,000 metal barricades (about 50 lbs each) but some days I ride around in a truck or tractor and do minimal physical work.

Oof, running on beach sand is no joke. Was supposed to run 3mi, did about 1.5 and my calf muscles and tibialis feel like they're gonna explode from the pump, also pain. Achilles hurts too.

    Had to walk back :(

You want a minor deficit on cardio/rest days for recomp.

I always laugh when people get excited about running on the beach. I’m like see you in 5 minutes HAHA. Its hard.

The Marathon de Sables is a 6 day 251km ultra in the Sahara.

    Fuck that.

Just 3500 cals? Gah damn. That’s probably the lowest cals out of any of the lifters in here lol

I am also not doing any fasting days.

I'm not sure how long I'll be at this calorie level but I doubt it'll be long, especially once I start training for the next comp.

I want to know your thoughts on the recomp diet and if you enjoy it.
