Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Tip in is just plain fun and helps with towing. I personally like the 0944 4.88 tune with mild tip-in. I got crazy good mpgs towing with the high tip in 19770 tune which was weird, but that could have been because it was a 91 octane tune

I drove Tom Cruise’s stuntman’s Raptor and that thing had super tip-in. I was chirping those tires effortlessly. It was the 6.2L, but it was twitchy as hell

I've had my dog for years, she was twitchy as hell. One day last month, I kicked her right in her SpeySquatch. She has been fine since then. I used my throttle foot.

 

Currently using the gear lock 91.
Not fond of that either.
I have been trying to deal with this.
The new tune SHOULD alleviate most if my gripes.
Short shifting, shifting like an indecisive drunk trying to drive an 18spd...

There is no way this transmission can last shifting non-stop. My major gripe is long tern reliabilty
As far as s4, I do. It helps a little. Doesnt help when my wife drives.
I live in the hills currently. When back home in coastal Texas, not really an issue.
If it doesnt help(2.0), truck is gone as soon as it is advantageous.

None of this is any reflection on OVTune, it IS better. Love the response, etc. Freaking trans cal sucks.

I have the same problem. Went to the dealer yesterday again, drove with a master tech and showed him the throttle/transmission response getting on the freeway. It reeves to 5000+ RPM and not changing gear for a long time. He said is normal, a characteristic of the truck and shifting points to save gas. I asked him how do I save gas keeping the truck in high RPMs (more gas, more pollution) instead of shifting gears early and no response from him...Toyota totally fucked up this truck kissing ass and pleasing CAFE.

 

Totally. Rev for like 2 seconds then jerk into gears...Piss me off every damn time

 

So I just pulled the trigger on this because of the sale going on right now. Can't wait to get this and improve my truck. Want to keep my Tacoma for a long time and I think this tuner will help make it better for me to do just that.
