I have a 2008 which had an oil change about 600 miles ago. Twice during the past week, when I start the truck, the light will blink for a couple seconds and then not come on again at all. It didn't do this before last week.

    Problem or not?

It is problably the reminder to change your oil, after so many miles past the oil change the light will turn on and stay on.

To reset you Maintenance Required light:
    1. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position with the odometer reading shown.

    2. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position while holding down the trip meter reset knob.

Hold down the knob for at least 5 second. The odometer indicates "000000" and the light goes off.
NOTE: (You will see a series of dashes that count down while the system resets itself)

If the system fails to reset, the light will continue to flash!

    You must re-perform the procedure

I just went through this the other day, I think that answer came from you. lol. So right back at ya. However my light wouldn't reset the dealer took her to the back and then returned it to me saying he has no idea what happened. He didn't even fix it. It was just back to norm when he got it in the bay.

When you reach 4500 miles (since the last reset) - the light will flash a few times and go out.

When you reach 5000 miles (since the last reset)- it'll stay on.

Reset the light (using Luk8272's instructions) and you'll be good for another 4500 miles.

Right on, fellas! Thanks a bunch.

And yes, I just turned 4,500 miles. ;)

Janster, we have identical trucks from the look of it. No mods on mine except tinted windows, though. :)

    Nice!!!

Tinted windows would be cool. It's a PA inspection headache to get tinted windows. They are illegal to an extent. I just don't know the details.

    Are yours pretty dark?
