Zuk has agreed to work with me on the replacement. I am grateful that there are still great guys like him around.

No, but I am getting a whole new third member. The holes in the carrier got elongated.

Wowee...no wonder it would not turn!! That seems so very odd because I know that Ken locktights those bolts and torques to spec...were you doing anything
extreme at the time?? Just very curious and now wondering if I should inspect mine just to be safe.. too bad we can't pull our diff covers to have a look :(

I have talked to Ken and he is perplexed as well. He said he has never had any bolts back off of previous gears.
I am just grateful that he is willing to work with me on this.

Yeah, he is a stand up guy, a huge plus to the Toyota community for sure. Hope all goes well for your repair!

    Bummer about the rear diff.
I am trying to work out the logistics of re-gearing. I may give Ken a call to see about some options. Budget wise it looks like I will be going with an ARB aft, really wanted to try the Harrop but reality and the wallet bites.
    Either that or contact ECGS.

Still on the fence between 4.56 and 4.88s. I don’t plan on going any bigger than a 255/85 R 16- probably just stick with the 235/85 R16s so I’m thinking 4.56 will be what I choose, kinda just want a one and done.
So my plan is to send some cores out for rebuild and get the thirds back so I can swap them out up north.
Trying not to get ripped off on freight- in Ak you get robbed on freight- probably cheaper to ship to Mongolia- UPS & FedEx want to ship everything 2nd day air and it still takes a week to 10 days, we’re talking $50 to send 5 pounds basically- screw that. Rant done.
Say can you post a couple shots of your rear spring set up, I’m thinking about going that route.
    Good luck on the repairs.

I think this photo covers my curiosity. 292AD2C4-941B-4D0A-B253-41F3D9E6BDE2.jpg
    Are those Timbrens?
It looks like you only took out one of your OLs, or did you only have one to begin with? OME stuff seems to update from time to time perhaps.
My truck has 2 overloads and the AAL:

I think I’m going to pull the trigger on the Icon pack, did you use their U bolts or have to get longer ones?
    Thanks..

My original OME leaf packs had two overload leafs. I removed them both and installed the factory overload leaf in their place.

Thanks for the info, is the Mad Taco back on the road now?

I’m neck deep in re installing the stereo and new Paranoid fab switch plate, may even get some of the stuff hooked up:CDB1DBDA-5FC4-4005-8A75-3329725BB486.jpg

I went ahead and installed 6 switches below the stereo:

and 2 in the clock void. Don’t have that many loads yet but some day....
