I pulled the trigger on a new pioneer avh-p3200, for those that have had both metra and scosche which do you prefer? I've tried searching and nothing seems to really narrow it down. Thanks in advance

I just installed a Clarion NX500 with Metra kit. I used the factory metal bracket. The Metra finish looks great except the fitting is really not as precise. After putting the trim on, the head unit looks facing to the side a little bit. Other than that, no problems.

I have the Scosche on my avh-p4200dvd. I'm pretty happy with it. I thought I might miss the OEM finish, but I really don't.

Anybody else prefer one over the other? Which one looks more like the factory, color and texture-wise?

I had all three in front of me and compared them in my truck. As far as looks, the Silver Textured Metra is the best IMO.

It matched my interior the best, the gray Scosche is a shade off.

Unfortunately, I cannot answer that, as I decided not to install the aftermarket head unit.

TommyXV...of the three in your photo...which one is that dark one on the left?

And...if you're not installing the radio, what's to become of it? I just ordered the Metra 8214TB where I think the "TB" means "textured black".

I had the black one on the left and its a horrible color. Its a Metra. I painted it and my dash trim and my shifter colsole flat black with auto paint and it looks great.

By "auto paint" do you mean you had it sprayed at a shop or did you use a rattlecan? I would never go rattlecan on interior stuff, it just doesn't hold up.
