You’re gonna love those bed lights, I’ve had his kit for years and they work great. You should try putting in some rock lights for extra camp lighting though.

The mattress seems to be nice and firm. Is there a fitted sheet that’s available for the M49 mattress?

    Death Valley Connections Part 1
...For anyone who's considering entering Death Valley through Beatty, I highly recommend using Titus Canyon as your entrance to the park - not only are the narrows near the west end of the road a joy to drive through, but the colorful views from Red Pass rival those found anywhere in the park. As such, I'd decided that this would be my route for the morning, and it wasn't long before I was aired down and heading west.

I was not alone. In my mirror, a fellow explorer I'd wanted to meet for some time - his adventures in Death Valley providing inspiration for several of the places I've visited over the last couple of years.

Im sure that this has been asked before. I apologize.

Deploy RTT to drivers side or passenger side of bed? Pros? Cons?

I was figuring on opening on drivers side but Im seeing alot on passenger side.

Personal preference. Put the ladder on the side that makes the most sense when you open the thing in your driveway to air out after you had to pack it up in the rain on Sunday after camping all weekend.

Ive had mine on the driver side for a long time. I was going to get a 270 awning, but someone mentioned that some space would be wasted by my swingout. So when I put my tent back on, Im going to mount it so it opens on passenger. Then when I get my 270, I will be able to use the whole awning

You could be a rebel like me and deploy to the rear. All depends on how/where you plan to open it and how you set up your camp.

I always deployed passenger. The thought was that if I ever had to pull off the road and stay the night, the ladder would be away from the road (never happened, but it was the thought lol)

I put the ladder on the driver side so I have easy access to the passenger side of the truck when getting stuff from the cab.

I have mine open in the passenger side the 270 awning on the drivers side opens to cover the back. So more or less mates up to the RTT for shade.
I swapped my rack to a lower one so the awning no longer works for me if you are interested. It is one of the no name ones from a group buy here. Worked fine the one time I used it.

I am kinda interested. I had one that I sold from the ChandlerDoom group buy, but kinda regret it. I wont be ready to buy for a couple weeks though.
