Definition of Leverage: use something to maximum advantage.

if he uses his skills and success in college to the maximum advantage (financial or team choice) then he is in fact using leverage.

 

I think everyone else including you have a deflated view of success.

 

Example.

the bengals want joe burrow.

joe burrow doesn’t want the bengals.

the panthers want joe burrow.

joe burrow then has leverage over the bengals because he is desired by another team and they aren’t guaranteed to just get to have him.

Joe Burrow still has no leverage. The Bengals have leverage over the Panthers in this situation. If he is wanted that bad by another team and going to be a dick to work with, they can shop the 1st pick for 2-3 picks from the Panthers. Leverage = Bengals. Joe Burrow really has no leverage of his own other than being a spoiled bitch and future Jonny Manziel.

 

He never said he didn’t want to play for them so not really sure where you’re getting that attitude from. He never said he wouldn’t work with a team. He simply said he has leverage, and he does.

the bengals don’t have leverage because he can just tell them no and go to the panthers and the bengals get nothing.
