Any advice on changing starters on the 3.4? Just take off passenger tire? Yesterday when I tried to start my truck, it cranked over a and made a really loud clank and shook the entire truck. then nothing. starter doesnt crank but just makes noises now. So, Im planning on changing that today. Hopefully nothing broke off in the flywheel.

I had to move the brake line to get it out of the wheel well. Some take it out form under the truck but I couldn’t get it to fit anywhere.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

I didn't even have to remove the tire. Just one of the brackets on one of the brake lines so I could move it out of the way. Pretty sure mine came out the bottom.

It's been a few months since I did it. Don't remember it being to terribly bad.

Did you unbolt it from under the truck or the wheel well? I looked yesterday and it seemed like it would be hard without removing the wheel.

I think I went in from the wheel well to loosen everything up, and then pulled it out through the bottom.

The amount of space from the side is going to depend on the lift your running and size tire.

I didn't remove the tire because I was in a rush. We were leaving to go camping that night. Removing the wheel would probably make it easier though.

It should go alright... Yes, you're working with limited space, but it's only like 3 bolts and 2 wires.

Nevermind. It looks like those wheels are a black hole, still can't see anything. :boink:
