Tacomas are very capable in stock form! I've wheeled stock Yota 4x4s for most of my life!

It's not that bad. I found the bed at pull-a-part for $200, the frame at a dealer in Bowling Green for $50, the shell for $140, leafs springs from @baldridge . The most expensive part will be the axle for $275.

You done the ECGS mod Matt? How difficult was it to do? I think I'm gonna tackle it when I put my suspension on. I've watched videos, but there's always snags you run into sometimes.

Stupid question, would it be easier to build a custom frame? Might be lighter? Also check out https://compactcampingstore.com/col...ing-frame-parts/products/camping-trailer-axle

Cheap trailer axles. Custom built to your specs with whatever hubs you want.

Drivers side is the side you need the most. Its the side that causes all the problems. I just did one on Chris's truck Didnt take any time at all. Maybe an hour

I can't weld, so a stock frame was my best option :D. It's also a lot lighter and easier for me b/c I know I can use easily found stuff for it.

Thats the same company i got my axle from. Its very beefy. Shipping was a bit high but your still not going to be anywhere near 275. Maybe 200 with shipping.

This will be the first axle I've had to buy. I used the stock Comanche axle on the Jeep trailer(I wanted this one to be lighter). The M416 I had never got past me taking it completely apart before I sold it

This is my first one as well. I plan to do a 4x8 or 4x6 enclosed conversion eventually.
