TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

Found a Gates hose that "looks" to be the same. Part # GAT 23283. I am going to order in one of the Toyota hoses and compare it to the Gates hose. The gates is stocked at my local O'Reilly.

 

Oh man, you guys are going hard at this! I love it! Wish some of my coworkers had this much passion. But my hose from SuperchargersOnline should be here any day now. I called them again today, to see what the shipping status was, and was told that the hose comes from Magnuson. Weird, because when I contacted Magnuson, they told me to call SuperchargersOnline to order. Lots of back and forth.

 

Yeah, that seems to be the standard run around.

 

You wanna see some funny shit.......let’s talk about the necessity of fuel pumps and catch cans.

Yeah unfortunately that's just the way it works, if you call Magnuson and try to order parts from them directly they don't want anything to do with it and will direct you to the website I have listed but they are willing to part out all sorts of bags and specific parts to superchargersonline. The drawback to that is that you have to wait for Magnuson to drag their feet and send it to them which in turn once they have they will send to you. It's really stupid.

 

When you get it. Please take pics of any tags or labels on it. Even the printed words on the hose itself could be a real help.

 

Will do! Whenever it gets here. I'll take a pic with the stock OEM hose to compare as well.

Superchargersonline simply distributes for Magnuson

 

Most of the TRD blower kit or Magnuson is from retrofitting of other companies. Nothing new here. Building a kit all in house would be stupid expensive.

 

@racebug68 has a new un-installed kit still. Maybe he can pull out his hose and read the numbers off of it for us.

Unfortunately, we do not offer the lower hose setup for your TRD supercharged Toyota Tacoma 4.0L, but we will be sure to add this application to our list of R&D products. I really appreciate you giving us the part number for that hose because it will just speed up the development process and its something we definitely want to make for the consumers out there.

Wait till we give them them part number of the 2.5” longer hose that we can just trim. Maybe they already make that one!!

 

That's the part number I gave them. It would have been too convenient for them to already make that one But it sounds like they are interested in creating one now, so that is good for us!

 

I don’t think the part number from Toyota is the one that is in the kit. I don’t know what the heck Toyota makes but I ain’t spending $130 plus to find out. I wanna know where the knock off retrofit hose comes from that Magneson sources for its kit. The heat exchanger hose came off a camero.

 

It's the same hose regardless. Magnuson is selling the exact same thing as the trd kit, the trd part number is just specific to toyota.

 

We shall see. I’m not convinced. I wonder if any Toyota Tech ever pulled a Toyota TRD part and had to cut it to fit.

 

This was talked about throughly on XRU many years ago. I’m pretty sure the TRD kit hoses were/are gates
