Sometimes I'm totally second-guessing this phrase. Especially during afternoon commute like today

Lol. Yeah... You know why, right?!

Edit. Nevermind. I'm just pissed off. An hour and a half to drive 17 miles.

lol... come on bro get serious and keep the politics out of it... it is after all a cardinal tacomaworld rule...

some food for thought though, our toll monies accounts for over 90% of the NY/NJ port authorities budget.... thats for like ummm cleaning and maintaining the roads and bridges and tunnels

we also have a hand full on one way pay bridge and tunnel crossings, so that typically means you get it hard crossing one way and no fee crossing the opposite way :ohsnap:

Yesterday I took the kids on a little trip to lower Manhattan. We took SI Ferry, rode the Subway (first time for them), and visited WTC. IMG_20200219_19173.jpgIMG_20200219_55736.jpg
It wasn't really an extensive nor pre-planned tour. Mostly to get out of the house in the PM, and we ended up there.
Nonetheless, it was a first time for me at WTC since August 2001. Granted, I drove by the site many times on West St, but never actually visited... And, ugh... Can't come up with proper words.
    IMG_20200219_21594.jpg
My five year old kids don't understand magnitude of what happened there, but after hearing that buildings collapsed after planes hit them, my son asked (with tears in his eyes) "Where are those people going to live now?"... We'll have to revisit that topic in a few years.
I will definitely recommend for anyone to come over and visit WTC and maybe the 9/11 Memorial and Museum (which we didn't visit at this time, but definitely will come back). I've seen some guided tours here, so maybe that would make sense to some.
Another place I haven't been since August 2001 is Statue of Liberty, and will have to plan a trip there as well.

I was there about two weeks ago; did the tour of the museum as well. You are absolutely right about not being able to come up with the words. It was a very emotional day for me - and i am generally not a very emotional person. I also agree that everyone should, at some point, visit there. If anyone does go, they should be prepared to understand that it is very humbling, they will likely feel things they may not have felt before and they will likely remember it for the rest of their lives. There are so many things to see at the site and the museum - way too many to list here. One of the first things that struck me was when I was looking at the bronze parapets where all of the individual victims names are inscribed. One of the woman's names was followed by the phrase "...and her unborn child." Like you said, I definitely recommend for anyone to come over and visit WTC and the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. Always remember.
