Ah, see....here is the inconsistency. I'm not knocking @sdsurfer at all.

However, if the poster of the political meme didn't have a "friend" as a mod, he would have just been banned. Probably a short ban for a first offense....

Now, I hate politics. It is damn near impossible for me to talk about in person, let alone trying to convey all the tiny important details required to hold a civil conversation about politics simply in words on a screen. So, if that's the rule, then ban away.

I'm sure i've been safe from a banning or two due to who the mod was in the thread I was pushing the line....but, in hindsight, I feel sorry for those who are new here and trying to start a relationship with people utilizing humor that pushes the line and they get banned.

Honestly, I've been banned from another forum for guns, a local one here in Indiana. It was so ridiculous that I've literally never gone back. I was new, trying to find my little corner of the forum to hibernate in...and BOOM. 14 day ban. No clue why..no warning, no heads up. Click. Banned.

I'll never go back.

 

Meh. I like it. Small doses of it. Its like the X rated version of TW. HAHAHA. No holds barred, cage free, GMO's approved, cocaine infused atmosphere. LOL

 

I dunno how other sites operate. But while it may seem to be inconsistent, taking the thread flow into mind and how things get listed for whatever reason, friend or not there is discretion.
Not one of us will ever claim to always get it right. We do our best and if a mistake is made own up to it.

 

I agree. I have a fine time...I suppose. I hate politics anyway so. It isnt that big of a deal to me to not have it. My concern is the inconsistency with which those instances are handled.

Is longevity really a concern at this point with TW?

Its overtaken TTORA, the sheer number of members would allow it to continue on, probably even without mods for at least a year.

 

Life’s not always fair but most mods do their best. If a person can’t survive a short ban and learn from it they shouldn’t be on a forum like this. Not saying your ban in the other forum was justified. But maybe the mod was having a bad day and you got caught in the crossfire. That’s life

 

Well I guess I mean longevity in the sense that people who are here stay or want to come back.

Several years ago TTORA had a bunch of members that where banned from here. Along with another tacoma forum that came up probably around 2014 or so.

 

Was fun for a minute but started feeling like not much more than a “We Hate TW” bitch session so I left.
Can’t say I’ve ever read the CoC here. Just use the same common sense I use when face to face with people and have done ok. I watch what seems to get other people in trouble and stay away from that behavior. Easy enough.
