This is the best mileage I have had since the end of last October, still have half a tank to go but don't expect it to change much.

These trucks are awful at the pump.. But with that said I know that I didnt buy it for the MPG. I bought this truck because of the amazing off road capabilities.. Im sure you bought it for similar reasons. I commute for work and could justify buying a 2009 prius that runs great with a salvage title for 4k. its a great car that averages 40mpg. The car will pay for its self in a few years. I dont know what you situation is but that might be something to look into. I love it.. I am reducing the yearly wear and tear on the Tacoma and am ONLY using if for the fun stuff.. Off roading, camping, or cruising around town for pleasure. Hope this helps brother.

From what I found the avg state price was 2.75 for him in 10/2018. Yeah not bad compared to some of the prices I remember.

As someone else said, momentum management is key. I also learned the value of it in our Prius. It's like the stock market, buy cheap and sell high. Gain your momentum when it's cheap, ie downhill, and sell it going uphill so you can stay out of the gas.

    Yes i agree.

its funny when you see people hit the gas then the brakes and repeat. Switch lanes 10 times and end up at the same light with you.

Not bad at all. That must have been all highway no more than about 110 right?

The best i got was 8.5L on sea to sky hwy. Stock tire size on e rated bfgs, average speed was about 95 km/hr, but its hilly and curvy hwy. Winter blend gas too.

A couple weeks ago an Asshat in a Honda CRV blew past me weaving in and out of traffic, hard on the brakes, pedal to the metal. About 5 miles down the road I was right behind him at the light pulling into the same parking lot.

Correct, all HWY at 100km/h (60mph) with a mix of uphills and downhills. Orangeville to Mississauga was on that picture.

We just got back from idaho (i live in ca) and in the mostly flat sections betwern marsing and winnemucca i got 14.8 mpg at 75 to 80 mph. Not surprising but it makes me wonder if a bigger motor or turbos would fair better. It puts me in a tough spot cause i love my truck for offroad and daily driving but i could potentially get something bigger that fits my family better that gets the same if not better gas mileage. I guess im just in love with the mt. Ill give it 4 more years (a third child would change the time frame) then it would be a sad day that i drop this thing for a redesinged tundra or f150.

When my truck was bone stock best city mpg I could get was 15mpg city and often saw 14mpg. I’m astonished by some of these claims. I don’t live in the hills at all and drove pretty conservatively. Best highway mpg I ever got was 22mpg drive all highway miles to 7,500’ elevation to Yosemite and back down to 50’ in the bay. Might still be breaking in however as the trucks only got just over 6k miles on it.

    truck is a 2019 DCSB 4x4 SR5

Now I average about 13-14 mpg city 15-18mpg highway on E load 285/75/16 33’s and 5.29 gears. Truck has about 300lbs of total added weight max.

I am not one to go in and out of traffic, hard accelerate or brake,. My wife and kids tease me I drive like an old fart. The best I ever averaged was 11.5l/100km and normally I sit at 13.5l/100km. This has been thru the winter. I am have a 3" lift, TRD intake and Exhaust. TRD skid plate, BFG KO2 that are wider by 20mm than stock and about 10mm taller. I suspect the additional stuff is getting me my higher fuel consumption.
