Passed my swat practicals yesterday. Ran a 6:24 mile at 230lbs which I’m damn proud of considering I’ve been just powerlifting recently. Passed shooting qual, scenarios, and interview went well. Waiting to hear if I get moved on to medical/psych then final selection.

Deload week this week, chest day today after work.

Someone mentioned heart rate in here the other day. For fun, I've been watching mine this week. Pretty neat observations...

    1. Resting rate average for the week not counting today is at 46 bpm.

    2. Resting rate today is at 60. The effects of stress is crazy. In the process of selling my house and have been back and forth with my realtor all day.

    3. Highest for the week was 161. That was immediately after an RPE9 squat set.

Pretty happy with my resting rate. I've literally done no "cardio" for over a year now. I am very active though. I walk at least 5mi even on my most inactive days, so I guess that helps.

Anyone here ever have experience with high creatinine levels or BUN levels from a high protein diet (lots of meat, at least 300g protein a day) and lots of lifting?

I got blood work done for the first time a couple weeks ago and the doctor called me back saying my creatinine was 1.85 and my BUN was high. Went to a kidney doctor and she's not too worried due to the amount of muscle mass I have and that I lift 2.5 hours a night about 5x a week.

Everything else came back normal. Cholesterol perfect, my blood levels are all great. No protein in my urine either.

Got blood work done again today and doing a 24 hour creatinine clearance urine test. Kind of worried about my kidneys but on bodybuilding forums this seems pretty normal.

Mine has been "elevated" for pretty much as long as I have been working out. My doc has pointed it out before, but has never raised any red flags or recommended that I make any changes.

I’m really fed up with MFP ALWAYS being down and constantly having problems. I set up a chronometer account. So far I’m liking it a lot more. It does net carbs and tracks a multitude of micros which is nice.
It also will track electrolytes which to me is a major plus since I have to supplement so much
    Also breaks down amino acids

If you want to pay for it you can track your fasts on it which is cool... too bad I’m cheap AF.

I haven't had a problem with MFP in like a year. What was it doing?

I eat lots of meat and get close to 400g of protein on a bulk. I get these levels checked every 6 months and they have never been high. I also drink almost 2 gallons of water a day.

I constantly get “down for maint” issues and errors when trying to add foods. It also drops off some of my foods off the lists.
I get the “down for maint” message at least twice a week.

Now I prefer to use the web version, not the app. That could make a difference.

My dad has gotten screwball BUN and creatine levels and had to see a nephrologist.
He doesn’t eat THAT much protein daily though. I’d guess around 200g.

One thing I can tell you though, the guy drinks no fucking water.

Chronometer is pretty cool though. I may just switch all to that.

    Water helps lol

My last labs in October show this:

    BUN: 12mg/dl, range of 6-20
Creatinine: 1.18mg/dl, range of .76-1.27 (so maybe very slightly high? But in range)
    BUN/Creatinine ratio: 10, standard range of 9-20

    Now I’m curious.

    Last results:
    BUN 16mg/dL
    Creatinine 0.64 mg/dL

*about 140-160g of protein per day, not a ton.

I logged onto my health portal and it has my surgery stats on it.
    Post Op BP: 139/98
    Intra Op BP: 85/31... ok
