I had mine /not/ engage many times and at this point have basically decided to exclusively use a-trac

Uh, no. A-TRAC is “Active TRACtion” control that provides assistance when wheel slippage is detected.

It helps to drive in a “S” left and right when trying to lock or unlock your diff. Helps the splines line up or release tension.

No, that’s stability control. A-TRAC is a button somewhere inside your truck, if equipped.

How are you guys engaging your locker? If I recall, you have to be in 4-Lo and under 5mph to enhance is and remain in 4-Lo. If you shift out of 4-Lo it’ll disengage and you’ll get the flashing light on the dash.

Atrac is crawl control. It’s the rotary knob above your noggin. Again 4 low to use

Did you have this problem before re-gearing?

I'm pretty sure you can engage the locker at any time 2wd or 4wd.

No it’s not. Two separate systems

No, no you can’t. Not unless you trick it by doing a mod to it like the old gray wore mod on the 1st gems.

Does anyone read their manuals anymore?

More specifically, crawl control uses A-TRAC, or is another layer above A-TRAC.

Sadly the manual does NOT say that you HAVE to be in 4WD to engage the locker. It only states that you should try 4Lo first before engaging the locker.

Why would they write all new code for the 2WD TRDOR's? Go out to your truck, turn it on, and engage the locker. No transfer case required.

Read page 253 of the instruction manual, it talks about 4wd and the diff but it never absolutley says that 4wd has to be engaged before you can engage the locker.

Maybe the problem is that they sold you TRP OFF ROAD instead of TRD? :notsure:
