Yep. Just about all of the cooling system and even hard parts that are supplied from our kit are borrowed from items off of kits made for Chevy and Ford exclusively. It's just more cost effective for them to do things that way.

Oh absolutely they are Gates. At the time of installing my kit on the truck my dumbass didn't have the foresight to take note of the part numbers for all of the hoses provided but I recognized all of the stickers and markings on the hoses to be of the Gates brand, so I have no doubt whatsoever the lower hose is 100% a take off of something else which happens to fit ours, what vehicle make or model that is, is anyone's guess as of right now. I will say that based on everything I have seen up to this point about our blowers I am going to go out on a limb and say that the hose either fits a Chevy or Ford. Lol.

These are the specs on the hoses I found on an email long ago when the xrunners did a group buy on a TRD SC silicon hose kit.

    U shaped hose "Gates" 19623

    Short "J" hose "Gates" 28479

    Long "J" hose "Gates" 28481

Not sure what your point is here since I posted these earlier and installed my own supercharger so I am aware of the kit and instructions. I think we are talking past each other. Page 29 shows a heater core hose in TRD install manual that isn’t a TRD part but instead for a Chevy Camero so it really doesn’t mean anything. The hose in question doesn’t have a TRD part number listed anywhere, just K1, from Magnuson. I am going to have to crawl up under the truck when I get back and search for any markings.

You said you didn’t think a trd part had to be cut.. the trd part is from the kit? Maybe I am not reading right but I’ll see myself out :duh:

yes, please do. Magnuson, sold the rights to TRD, during which time Toyota offered the SC. Just because TRD stamped their logo all over it doesn’t mean they ever made, modified, created or produced any of it. This was never offered as a factory option. It was only an option that dealers could add after delivery. Toyota sold those rights back to Magnuson years ago. Toyota never made parts for the blower. Pull up all the Gates parts number from the x-runner forum posted by @TRON above, they are all generic Gates heater core hoses. The install kit came from Magnuson and sold to dealers for install, not ever a Toyota produced product.

I punched those numbers into google and came up with nothing. They sure don't make it easy for they.

I went ahead and started searching myself and found two possibilities. One is from our own kit using the upper radiator hose in Silicone form which is produced by Mishimoto. Pictures below show the hose in original form before getting hacked:

    20200218_230604.jpg

Here is a photo after it is hacked:

    20200218_230620.jpg

So with that being said, we got this possibility by Mishimoto for our own trucks, you would basically have to use an upper hose for this, maybe it would work.

    Screenshot_20200218-231031_Samsung Internet.jpg

Now given that that is the upper hose, there is a possibility it may not work, I have also found what I believe to be DEAD TO NUTS the original hose which came with the kit. It appears the hose comes off an old 5.0 GT/ Cobra 1986-1993 Mustang. The hose as part of Mishimotos kit on their website shows what I STRONGLY believe is the hose we get in our kit, which you can get in Silicone (albeit the kit, but nevertheless, it's there). Make your mods to the hose as needed and now you have yourself a full silicone upper and lower getup.

Compare the hose from the instruction manual (which is exactly how its curvature really is and the Mishimoto unit) perhaps they would be willing to separate the hose and sell individually? Especially if there is enough demand for it.

It's made of wolverine nut sack skin. Very strong, yet soft and supple. It's the harvesting of said nut sack skin that drives the price up, as wolverines are known to be quite attached to their sacks and unwilling to part from them, even to the point of extreme aggression.

Just woke up and haven’t called them yet, but this may be a good lead thanks to @nudavinci64

Google Fu comes through again. This is the logo and company rubbed off. There is a phone number, they may be able to help. The part number is theirs and they could probably give the history on it.

They me the upper and lower N/A ones in silicone still. Should that Mustang one be a match, then that would be an easy s/c kit.

Seems that someone should send them their s/c lower hose and mention that for comparison.

I have sent the expected info on that cobra hose to HPS. They seem to be very interested in making a kit for our trucks. We shall see what happens.

I guess if we all got electric fans like @mightytacoman then there would be plenty of room for any number of hose configurations.

Well with the info they have they should be able to make a hose that is a stock replacement that hopefully doesn’t have to be cut 2.5” either.
I would like an electric fan, but I always have the fear that if it’s going to break it will be 100+ miles from home while I am on vacation. Just my luck lol
