    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
I personally did the deck plate mod so people could immediately talk shit about it.

I don't uncap it much anymore now that I installed the snorkle... so people could talk shit about that too.

I've always had a theory that an manual hub tube would be stronger because you would have less deflection on the stub shaft. It's a future mod (manual tube on add diff) I want to try but haven't prioritized.

Now that's just making way too much sense man.

We need to let the mechaniccal geniuses that brag about their (less than) 6mm bigger CV shafts continue to live in blissful ignorance that their ADD shaft is weaker than the manual shaft.

    It's more fun to watch.

Yea I agree with that theory. Isn't the actuator/whole vacuum assembly thing on the ADD tube? Not sure how that's all connected or works.

Been toying with the idea of making some ADD axles with manual hub outer joint housings.

I noticed Zero change on my 2.7, same with the snorkel, but that could be down to living at a high elevation (7700), and having no power to begin with.

Oh I would still use ADD CV's because fuck locking hubs and fuck smaller cv's. :luvya::p

It is, but it would basically be like the ADD always actuated.

And that's cool... but at least you have an understanding that ADD has it's own drawbacks.

Gotcha. Sounds like a good idea as long as it's not your daily.

I just think it's funny that people are so opposed to locking manual hubs.

99.9% of the time, if I go where I need 4wd, I'd actually want to air down anyway. So, I lock when I air down and unlock when I air back up.

I get that it would suck in snow country where 4x4 would be more part of daily life... which is when I would just leave the hubs locked and run it like ADD runs anyway.

Ever have to chip ice off of em and pray they unlock while snow keeps falling down your neck? In NC its pointless to leave them locked for the entire winter since we only get bad weather maybe 2x a year.

I'll take my ADD any day of the week.

Why is it that we can't have a discussion and rib each other over different things without it being called an arguement?

No one is arguing about anything right now. It's friendly shit talking.

Except when you're automatic fails to be automatic.

That's why this guy will have nothing to do with push button 4wd. ADD J-shift I could do... push button... nope.

Leaving them locked is pretty much exactly like just running ADD :notsure:

Not sayin you should want manual... but for me, it's just not a big deal to have manual hubs.

Sounds like it makes converting to 4WD much easier. If I had to do that, I’d go manual.

I did make the swap 100% mechanical. And 100% mechanical 4wd is definately what I would have preferred anyway.

No it's not. Leaving the hubs locked would mean your front driveshaft is spinning too.
