My mom would never let me have one of those in her house; The same goes for snakes! As long as it can't kill me instantly (or spray me with a vile liquid), I'm not scared of it!

I've had numerous freshwater fish (1993-1996, 1999-2000, 2000-2002, 2003-2005, 2006-2007, 2018-2019), a Black Labrador Retriever (1995-2009), two African Dwarf Frogs (2006-2013?), two hermit crabs (2006-2008?) a Pacman Frog (2009), and a mixed breed rescue puppy (2018-2019; She had a rare congenital kidney defect and we had to put her to sleep). I've also had a couple ant farms!

My mom was bit on the back by a spider last year. I ended up having to pack that wound for six months. I can respect them, but after that I don’t really care for them.

I'm not afraid of spiders, and if I find one in my house I will try to get it outside without killing it.

So much fun watching them grow. I'd recommend keeping a simple Excel spreadsheet so you can add dates when each of your spiders molts. You can sort of use that to roughly predict when their next molt will be.

In my book you get alot of credit. You got balls having an ornate, especially early on.

I’m not afraid of them. Just don’t go out of my way to be friends with them.

Had a caribena versicolor sling which used to be classified as avicularia versicolor but sadly it died during it's first molt. I definitely plan to grab more of that species/genus though.

I saw this in a meme one time, and perfectly describes my cousin, as well as a friend of mine...

"Whenever I see a spider, I become like a mob boss; I want him killed, I want his family killed, and I want his house burned to the ground!"

I've been out of the loop for a while now. Did they reclassify the entire genus or just split some of the pink toes into a new genus?

Pink toes were my favorite besides the more rare Brachypelmas.

Also, aren't scorpions in the same family as spiders?

No scorpions are in a different "order." To put it into a mammal perspective bats and whales are in separate orders as well. :D

You know you are a hardcore tarantula keeper when you start growing your own insect feeder colonies. Are you there yet? ;)

I'm not sure what the arachnologists did but the brachypelma genus just got overhauled as well.

Not yet! But I will at some point! The three amigas need to grow some more I think and I'll likely start a colony of Dubia! The few cricket shipments I had weren't even that many and they stinky! lol
