That goes behind the seat, right? I don't see any reason why it wouldn't fit; I was thinking it was one of those center console enclosures and maybe the presence of a 4WD shifter would cause issues...

Yep, it goes behind the rear seat.

That's what I thought as well, but I didn't know if perhaps there was some difference on the 4WD vs 2WD double cab Toyota models that would cause it not to fit.

It's secondhand right? The seller is probably saying "PreRunner" because he owns a PreRunner...

Nope, that is brand new. That is the guy (shop) that sells them.

I shot them an email to confirm, but I figured I would post here incase someone has this setup and has firsthand experience.

I don't see why it wouldn't fit your truck :)

At least they make vehicle-specific enclosures that fit your cab configuration; I've got a 2nd Gen RC and I was extremely limited in subwoofer choices!

I'll bet! I was pretty happy when I found this setup, as it saves me the time of having to create something custom.

I didn't have create anything custom, but I had to settle for an 8" sub in the interest of preserving space behind the seat!

Oh yeah, that makes sense. I guess that's one advantage of the double cab (or extended cab). However, with the right setup, even an 8" can do pretty well.

I am on my fourth aftermarket head unit and second set of component speakers since 2013; I was a total amateur back in 2013 and had no idea what I was doing, so I paid a friend to install. He did a good job, but back then I didn't think I needed an external amplifier...

The lack of an external amp meant that speakers distorted when pushed to their limits; My neighbor helped me install a backup camera, three different touch-screen head units, a subwoofer, an external amp, new speakers, and sound deadening between September 2016 and April 2018! The difference is night and day, and my system sounds better than the factory systems in many vehicles that are considerably more expensive!

Absolutely! When you run a stand-alone amp (as oppose to using the head unit to power the speakers), the sound quality is tremendously better. Most people don't realize this (and I didn't realize it once upon a time either), but once you experience it both ways, you can never go back. I'm a big audiophile, so I don't want to skip out on the stereo. A good stereo in my opinion makes a vehicle that much more pleasant to drive.

I'm also doing the sound deadening at the same time (which I did on my last vehicle) and that stuff (when applied properly) makes a substantial difference as well.

As long as your willing to not win any stereo competitions, powered subs under your seat work great to add that filler bass. I have a 10" Rockville under my passenger seat and it sounds good along with all new door speakers. I wanted to keep my space behind the seats for storage.

Is anything required to fit that powered sub under your seat? Definitely not trying to win any sound competitions, just trying to get some really good sound.
