The tax benefits is where it's at and add's up. The investment part is nice, but you also end up paying a lot less taxes on your money. There-by not letting the government borrow as much of it.

A tradition IRA is pre tax income. It’s taxed at distribution

a Roth IRA is post tax income so it’s not taxed at distribution.

No where in history since the inception of Roth IRA has it been taxed at distro... So like, your point......... It's not one... Or at least not a good one.

When it comes down to it, 401k, IRA, Roth IRA etc are just places to put your money to grow that HOPEFULLY grow faster than in a savings account and you end up paying less taxes on that money. People with a lot of money use all those tools in order to not have to pay those taxes. They also happen to grow over time more than just a savings account. So......... There is no scheme, you just don't understand how it works outside of lizard-people land.

 

Please show me your list of sources where people have been taxed on the distribution.
