Agreed. I've seen the cab/bed junction smashed on a truck without sliders. That would make me nervous not having it protected.

 

@monkeyevil can we get a extra few inches on these

 

That would be a very pointy rock to sneak up there, but anything is possible. I assume that they stopped where they did for a good reason, but I'll verify with the team in the AM.

Yeah... and now that I'm looking at it again I think it was on an Access Cab so there is more room between the wheel and the cab/bed junction.

 

Sorry to necro this thread but any general advice for the wiring? I see they put ziptie cutouts in the cross beams which is nice, did you run the wires along the slider then up into the engine bay? Where did you cross over and join them together? Basically I'm looking for routing ideas.

 

I ran my passenger side wiring along the main harness on the firewall then down. Connected driver to passenger side at my SwitchPros.

Any underneath pictures? Are they plug and play or drilling was necessary for the install? They look sick OP!

 

They have a no-drill option, but for full body weight drops we recommend drilling the optional couple holes.

 

I don't really have any pictures, but I kind of did the same thing as @monkeyevil. Drivers side I ran to the frame and up behind the fender liner inside the engine bay. Passenger side I did the same, then brought it over across the firewall and tied it into the ones from the drivers side, then fed it into the inside for the DSIM module and switch.

Unfortunately I crossed back over to the dark side (life long Jeep guy who bought a Gladiator Rubicon) so I can't take any additional pictures of it.

 

ohh i see, how you like the gladiator in comparison to the Tacoma?

 

I really like it a lot. The transmission and engine are way better, and the 6” of extra rear leg room is really nice. The technology stuff is also much better. Having towed the same trailer with both, the Gladiator is a better tow vehicle.

I did like the IFS ride on the Tacoma, and it would do better on gas. All in all I’m happy with my decision.
