What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I sprayed mine with matte black. You should definitely look into doing it on yours.

 

I’m looking at putting 5100s on mine and trying to figure out what setting. I want a 2-2.5” AAL. I guess I’ll measure to see what I have now and figure out the front 5100s. Right now I’m running 4” spindles and a 2” block. I think the rear is starting to sag a little. It seems like a 1” block would work great on yours. It’s a nice, clean looking truck!

 

Have you tried attaching it to the piece above the rear view mirror? That’s where I mounted mine and the double sided tape is holding up well. It’s not very noticeable up there either. Just a thought.

Took my truck to a 4x4 shop to try and get the takeoff vibrations caused by my OME lift to go away. Was told by the owner that with the 2 piece driveshaft the truck vibrates going uphill while towing and stuff a little anyway and it's normal...not sure how I feel about that...anyone ever experience this? Anyway the told me I didn't need the 3 degree axle shims, took em out, and changed the shim size of my center bearing. The takeoff vibrations are definitely less but now I swear there's slight vibrations at 25 mph as well. Apparently the only thing left to do is get a single piece driveshaft. 4x4 shop only cost 75 bucks so not pissed about the outcome really but still frustrated in general.

I keep reading mixed reviews on putting a RTT on a fiberglass shell.

Welcome to owning a lifted truck... its gonna vibrate somewhere most likely (not saying you can't get it prefect but its not super easy). options are using the IEDLS carrier bearing or doing anything to slightly reduce u joint angles. But one pieces can get tricky, theres people that use them with no issues but i'ld rather not have that much long swinging mass right below my butt, also if you decide to gear the vibes will come back, theres a few good threads on this forum about the ultimate fix.

 

Mine has stress cracks on it with no additional weight, I'd be nervous about an RTT on mine too
