What piece are you talking about? All I have is the mirror and headliner. I drive a regular cab so I don't have a roof console/sunglasses holder.

Common theme in all Tacomas, but more pronounced once you lift it. Lots of people add the shims, do a drive shaft carrier bearing drop and replace other bearings. I believe ECGS/needle bearing is the front that goes bad and causes vibes as well. Lots of people believe its due to the 2 piece drive shaft and the angles at which it is placed. When lifted the angles get greater causing more vibration.

Some trucks its a simple carrier bearing drop kit that fixes it, some trucks its the shims, some guys even go to one piece drive shafts to fix the issue. It all depends on the truck. My DCLB isn't lifted but I have a small small vibration under 25 from a stop then it clears up once I get moving. I have a feeling once I lift I will be required to do carrier drop and possibly shims. If a one piece drive shaft scares you for swinging mass reasons look into having a driveshaft loop fabbed so if it does blow a u-joint its less likely to turn into a flail.

Sorry to hear this. I've also got the slightest shudder from a stop on a grade in a 4x4 with no lift. Goes away before 10 - 15 mph, aka immediately

@FreshPots sorry if I missed this info but how much lift did you add?

I don't look at my MPG often, but its a 2015, AT....4.0... 33" KM3's..skids, bumpers ....re geared to 4.56's and I get 14 +/- also....didn't buy it for mileage, but the last rip to the G W National Forest (Va) from Pa did keep check...so thats a 8 hr trip hi way speeds....70-75

you will see all kinda claims from folks...mostly depends on your driving style and where ya live and terrain etc..and how your truck is built, etc......

Yea I've tried different things and it just changes the vibes, hasn't eliminated them. Might just be something I have to learn to live with.

That's what I was wondering, if other Tacomas without a lift are ever experiencing a shudder. Thanks for confirming that. With the OME suspension I've got about 2 1/2" of lift.

Tried shims, done carrier drop, measured driveshaft angles, replaced needle bearing. Only thing haven't tried is single piece driveshaft. Don't know if I want to do that or not though.

Also thanks for the ideas/input everyone. Love this site

I have the BP-51 OME lift, also did the ECGS bushing, on KM 3;s....and have no shudder/vibration etc...wud think no 2 trucks are alike..mileage, condition of bushings, universal joints etc...but it is possible to have no vibration/shuddering....

Any Mods? One. Maybe two, tops...
One of these days I’m not going to like the outcome. Also, I’m pretty picky about what gas I use, I only use Shell 93 octane. That’s what makes it even more of a nail bitter...

Total miles on 20.897 gallons of gas (full tank), mah, not the greatest gas mileage - I know. Don’t care.

You might also try checking the torque on the leaf spring bolts. A few months after doing my lift I started getting a small vibration and while checking things out I found that 3 of the nuts on the driver side were not as tight as they should have been. This was after I had done the 500 miles retorque of all of the fasteners. Retorqued them and the vibration went away.

How close did you get the angles compared to pre lift angles? Was there a large delta between the two? Assuming they're in spec.

Didnt measure angles before lift, wasn't too concerned about it and was hopung the lift wouldn't cause any issues. Silly me

Some people get the vibrations and others don't. For those that do, it varies in intensity and what MPH you're going, conditions, etc. I have the 3 leaf progressive in the rear and I have take off shudders, but nothing bad. One piece driveshaft does appear to resolve the issue, however, depending how high your rear is lifted, your new one piece DS may hit the carrier cross member. Especially off road with some load. Some people cut this out. Or, you stick with a double shaft driveshaft and run double cardan joints. Some people modify their stock driveshaft. Others buy completely new. That also seems to resolve the vibrations. This would be the option I would run, but the little vibration on take off stopped bothering me. Mainly because I don't think it's worth it at this time.
