Well, some more forward progress tonight anyhow. Flywheel and clutch are in

drilled out the bolt that snapped for the exhaust manifold support

these two cap head screws were stuck in the transmission housing. Turns out steel bolts don’t get along very well with aluminum. Fought with them for an hour getting them out, retapped the threads in the transmission and ran the bolts through a die, then reinstalled with lots of anti seize. 0160110E-B16D-448A-9F24-54DCE3E58709.jpg

at this point the transmission is ready to put back in and then reconnect the shifters and driveline. Hopefully tackle that this weekend.

for sure. Hoping to have it ready to drive by this weekend but we’ll see. My motivation level is low and my laziness factor is inversely proportional to that :anonymous:

Got a bunch more progress done on the truck this weekend. Really only worked on it for a few hours saturday and I'll be travelling for work this week so hoping to have it wrapped up next weekend and ready to drive again.

    Drivetrain is re-installed.
wiring harness re-routed and all the connectors are plugged in
Transmission, crawl box, and t-case oil is changed.
Shifters are re-installed in the cab
    Cross-member is bolted back up
New slave cylinder is connected, clutch fluid is flushed and bled.

For anyone with the 6-speed, I'd highly recommend this upgrade over the stock setup, seems to be very good quality. Time will tell once I get some mileage under my belt, but all the reviews I've read says this kit is superior to the OEM setup. I was also able to eliminate the clutch accumulator along with a bunch of unnecessary tubing going from the clutch reservoir to the slave cylinder (rubber hose and long bendy hard line) so it cleaned the engine bay up a bit back by the firewall.

    Things that are left are:
    re-connect driveshafts
    re-connect exhaust
torque remaining cross-member and transmission mount bolts
    re-install center console

Busy busy. Is it the accumulator delete kit they have talked about on here? Or are you referring to the upgraded clutch assembly?

There is an accumulator delete kit you can purchase that will connect right at the stock slave cylinder (think it's around $75 for that line). Link is here

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/mt-accumulator-delete-mod-adm-and-bs-thread.568303/

The benefit to getting the clutchmaster slave cylinder setup is that you are are able to use their line they provide to delete the accumulator, so it essentially kills two birds with one stone.

Got the truck finished up Friday, drives great. Also got the gas tank skid back and re-installed, then Saturday we did Craig's slave cylinder.
    IMG_3088.jpg

Today I got the HKB voltage booster installed, happy with the new alternator output, should keep the yellow tops filled up a bit more.

    IMG_3103.jpg IMG_3105.jpg IMG_3106.jpg

Next up is troubleshooting my drivers front wheel speed sensor, installing URD 160 degree thermostat and associated coolant change, install dual voltmeter in the old ADD switch position, and order some new bumpstops due to the wheelers ones being dry rotted.

Drained the coolant from rad and engine block (drivers side engine block petock suck balls to get to), installed a new URD 160 deg thermostat, then added 2 gallons of new toyota pink junk
    IMG_3147.jpg

This tool was great for removing the studs and installing new thermostat, without it I would have been busting me knuckles for hours.

Wired up my air on board voltmeter where my old ADD switch was.

Added a SPST toggle switch to turn off the meter when I don’t want it on since it’s wired directly to the batteries.
