Any PC Builders Out There?

I'm doing good. So far it's just the fans on the gcu and the memory. That's it . I swear. Haha.



So. Will I be able to get this all together quick enough so I can say to the wife "I don't know what you're talking about. That's been there for awhile".

 

She might notice that it's the first thing in the house that glows.

 

Not true. Stray rf on one of my antennas is enough to light some super low power led lights I have in the room lol

So i purchased a pre-built cyberpowerpc for my first gaming pc (pre-built bad, i know ) due to the sale price and components in the computer. It's a good foundation with the Ryzen 5 3600 that I can upgrade over time. Just ordered 16gb of Vulcan-Z 3000mhz since it came with only 1 8gb stick. I think the next steps will be a better power supply, cpu cooler, 1tb m.2 storage for games, and then better gpu in the future. Regarding the cpu cooler, are the noctua or dark rock pro 4 air coolers considered the best air coolers?

 

On one hand, I cant wait till Star Citizen is a bit closer to complete, but on the other I'm glad it's not because I know I'll have to upgrade again when I start playing it more. I can't afford a new Ryzen based build at the moment.

 

I'm building as well, and I believe a few guys on here suggested noctua to me.

The Noctua D15 and Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 4 are pretty much tied. Personally I'd go witb the Noctua Chromax D15 for the blacked out look and Noctua fans.

 

We can budget for this.

 

Seriously though the full star citizen game is vaporware at this point. They'll eventually release a "full" game but it won't be what was promised. Best scam of all time.

 

The problem is that they keep adding to it so it's actually a lot more than promised, but way way later than promised. All about dat feature creep, yo.

The single player campaign is on the horizon, though.

 

They never really specified what the game was going to be from what I've seen and heard. It was all about building this giant MMORPG with a focus on realistic space combat and economic portions all while allowing for single player play-through. All I've seen is the promise of more of the later two and less of the first thing. Maybe it'll be great, I'm not really a fan of the spiritual predecessors so I'm good with whatever, but I feel like anything the launch now and call "full" is going to piss off a lot of people because it won't be their version of what they heard in the initial promises.

 

My friend has more money than brains and was asking me if he should buy a 9900KS or a 3950x.

I first said well why would you even need either of those but hey its your money send it.

 

I bet this will be so much better on a real monitor.

 

3950x. The 9900KS is the competitor to the 3900x not the 3950x by price point.

The better question is can he even use the cores lol, or is it just to stare at in task manager.
