Looking for a piece of 1/8” or 3/16” steel 2’x3’ or 4’ long. Anyone got anything laying around? Want to put it on one side of the bench I made.

I usually go to Bateff Salvage for stuff like that. Don’t know of similar east bay places.
edit- would the side of a washing mashine screwed to plywood work?

 

Bataeff salvage in S. Santa Rosa near Horn Ave. Back in 1995 I was looking for metal to weld under a 3 cylinder Suzuki Samauri 4WD with a friend and the owner walked up to us and started yelling at us that we were theives and accused us of stealing from the inside area which was absurd. My friend stripped nearly completely and I insisted he call the police as he was seriously harrassing us for no reason. Cops came, they said it had happened before. The cops and us two left. I’m still pissed at that owner, I’m not sure who runs it now but I will always say fuck that place.

 

Not a bad idea. Maybe I will think a little more of of the box and see where I might be able to scrape some metal

Never met him as I didn’t know about it until I moved up there but the keedz are alright, nice guys, the both of them.
