Out- I just got a new Contract and wont have any days off for a while.
I will try to be an active reader for future trips and adventures.

How much if any extra fuel are you guys bringing??

 

I always carry 10 gallons

 

Yeah, 10 gallons. I don't think any of us actually used any of the spare fuel we had last time though. There are plenty of gas stations around as the route progresses.

Just want to verify, this is that campsite we found up that wash that has a ton of spots and is up above the wash, right? Had that memorial cross and was super green when we were there last year?

Yep, the spot i'm thinking of is the spot you and Danny and I parked at last year. You guys might beat me there but if not that's where i'll be.

 

I’m guessing there will be some snow since it’s rained a few times?

 

I haven't been to that specific area myself but according to Timeanddate.com Pioneer Pass campground hasn't gotten any snow this year. Quite a few days of light and heavy rain but no snow.

 

xtreme, that looks like the place that we discussed a couple of weeks ago. I want to do Section 1, yes. The official start is ~3 miles from your google maps location. 9 am is on the table, though I will most likely be camped nearby, as I am driving down from Flagstaff Wednesday night, so start time doesn't bother me too much.

 

i think the 'official start' is in a school parking lot right??
