maybe I should just do the 17x8s with rock rings. Haven't had issues breaking a bead yet. Though doing rock rings is pretty much the same amount of work as DIY beadlocks

Its why I gave up one of the Vettes recently; had in the back of my mind "magnusson supercharger" while I drove the Tacoma. Instead, going off road has been more fun than going much faster.

I just need to quit putting off mods

Install the grand vitara alternator and upgrade my power/ground cables as supporting mods for my Warn winch. The winch is still new in box at my storage.

Other mod would be finally installing my Icon UCAs I bought last year, also new in box. Buying new King Ext coilovers will be incentive to install my UCAs so I'm excited for them to get here.

Then there's the rear shock relocation I've been wanting to do for awhile but its been in the backburner.

And finally 4x4 swap which just means I need a transmission and transfer case. I have everything else for the swap sans drive shaft.

Fuck I bought more and did more than I ever planned in a year of ownership :anonymous:

That all sounds pretty good to me.

Are you sure about the rear shock relocate? I don't really see the point in that one. Lots of work for minimal gain. I did a u bolt flip and welded new tabs on to the axle and am still running them in the stock location

Ok so correct me if I'm wrong but I've read that you do give up a bit of payload when doing a u bolt flip.

Plus if I recall correctly, you're running a whole different rear housing so not exactly apples to apples if I got new tabs welded on at a lower point (while keeping the stock upper mounting location).

Doing a u bolt flip shouldn't do anything for payload :notsure:

We flexed the truck out with a forklift before putting the tabs onto the axle. the shock mounts ended up near centered on the housing; the stock spring plate shock mount is at least and inch above the bottom of the axle OTOH

Lol I'm making chicken or steak every other night but carne asada has been off the menu for a week now.

Maybe need to swing by Safeway to get some for tacos tonight.

    @CS_AR
'Ultra Power' ball joints showed up. Reminded me why I quit using rock auto before. Of course it's the cheap crap Chinese ball joints that they sent me, even though the picture shows something completely different. Dammit, I'm bugged that I fell for it again more than anything. I knew better. In my experience in the past, it is quite common for the parts they ship to you do not match the parts they show in the detailed part image.
And to return stuff Rock Auto makes you pay to shop it back right? Dammit. Waste of money and my business. I knew better man, why did I fall for it AGAIN!?! Oh well.
Fool me once, shame on........ shame onyou. Fool me once you can't fool me again!:rofl:this guy cracked me up BIG TIME!

Hell ya man get it. I been doing steamed veggies for lunch with a protein bar all week. Then make for dinner whatever the GF asks for (obv lol).

I got our meat from frys and it wasn't bad at all seasoned and topped with lime juice on some tacos. Def not the same as a carniceria's meat, but good enough imo! I'd say for for it tn!
