Want better off road performance and a better ride on pavement?

The front end is where it all starts. Here at TC we produce key components that work together with a quality set of extended travel coilovers to drastically improve your vehicle's handling and component reliability. Your wish list....⁣

    1. Coilovers - Where it all starts! There are more differences than just a color in shock performance. Shocks provide 2-3" lift. @kingshocks & @elkasuspension offer external dial controls for compression dampening adjustment to customize your ride quality. Their internal valving + spring rate combinations offer some of the best ride quality on the market. ⁣

    2. Upper Control Arms - Optimize steering geometry! Designed to enable 1" of added droop travel provided by the shocks, and corrects the caster issues encountered when lifting the vehicle.⁣

    3. Cam Tab Gussets - Keep alignment straight! They reinforce weak factory cam alignment tab plates prone to bending during hard front impacts or harsh bottom outs while on the brakes.⁣

    4. Spindle Gussets - Dont get stranded! Strengthens OEM spindle uprights and prevents the knuckle from bending caused by a hard front end impact.⁣

    5. Lower Control Arms - Long travel inspired! Urethane bushings pivot without resistance and a lower uniball conversion provides confidence and durability that even @dakarrally racers can trust. TC uses all 4130 chromoly plate with internal gussets and ribs for max strength. ⁣

    6. Body Mount Chop Plates - Clearance is needed! Installing larger tires requires trimming the factory body mounts. These plates reinforce the factory body mount. ⁣

    - Increased ground clearance and adds component strength & durability
    - Newly integrated steering stop tabs retain factory turning angle with no modification necessary to the OEM ball joint cradles
    - Pocket added at the coilover shock tabs increases clearance allowing for a wider range of shocks to be used - up to 3.0"
    - New billet CNC machined uniball cup provides more turning clearance & increases strength
    - 1" 100% stainless steel uniballs replace factory ball joints
    - Replaceable polyurethane pivot bushings include zerk fittings for easy maintenance
    - Single or dual shock configurations available
    - KDSS-compatible versions of single and dual shock arms available
    - Three stage powder coat includes a durable clear coat
    - Laser cut 4130 chromoly construction

which lower would you recommend? I noticed there’s like 3 options.
    60% daily
    40% off road

Thank you for your detailed explanation and time.

It really comes down to personal preference.
Do you plan to run a secondary shock?
Do you plan to run a large (3.0 style) shock?
When you do go off road are you doing more rock crawling type things or just some back roads/overlanding?

I run the Expedition version of the lowers on my vehicle. They are the new hotness.
    https://www.chaosfab.com/accessorie...es-Stock-Length-Lower-Control-Arms-86555-E-16

The older version of the stock lowers seems to be what the guys who are rock crawling like because it has the thick bottom plate/ingratiated skid plate. The arm is heavier and doesn't have all the features the Expedition version has.
    https://www.chaosfab.com/accessories/2016-2020-Tacoma-Stock-Length-Lower-Control-Arms-86500-16

It's also not as if the price difference is that high for a part that is going to pretty much last for the life of your vehicle. My recommendation would be to go with the Expedition lowers but it's up to what you want to do with the vehicle and if the options the Expedition offers are worth it to you.

Yeah, I don’t and not planning on doing any Rock crawling on my Tacoma. Sounds like the expedition is the one for me. Thank you again for the quick and detailed response!

"Time flies! So glad I have Lil T for my transportation
This one is a bitter sweet memory. A race with a legend in the right seat. We were running top 5 out of 60+ guys on our tail for day 2 and then a high speed roll over after a steering rack failure lap 2 day 2. WFO Vance at the door day 1 telling me "DONT LIFT - WFO off the jump!" and the crew at TC giving us the opportunity to race at SNORE Battle at Primm. GOOD TIMES!!"
