Should have gotten a Softopper instead of Bestop....

Just kidding, hated bestop stuff when owning my Wrangler. You may have had better a better experience though.

That's cool. I still like mine better.
    -faster to open up
    - light but still rigid to carry a RTT
    - doesnt take up your cargo space when its rolled up

Looked up your website, I don't see any pictures of cool guns...

But it does look like a cool job. Gotta have solid cap if carrying those drones.

They had a cool idea, but it never panned out how they wanted. There were a few really cool concepts for toppers that came out, but they just never caught on. My fav was one that was a tonneau cover, but it could be lifted up and have sides drop down to make it into a full cap.

I personally really like the half caps, you would take out your back window, these would then seal to the window with a accordion seal. Then you would have a extended cab. People put sleeping platforms, extra seats, dog areas, just about anything back there.

If you buy the softopper and decide that you want the full cap, you can easily get almost your entire investment cost back. They sell really easy.

Put that on a Dodge mega cab long bed and you'd have a bus that can haul a quad...

Thanks for all the great info. It seems like a ST if a good start and if I need to sell it seems like I can move it along pretty easy!

I've been running a soft topper for about a year now and love it. I've considered a hard top but only if i can find a good deal for a used one that is painted or black. The reason being -- it would be nice to be able to lock my things in a topper, whereas anyone can get into a soft topper if they wanted to.

So the only downside to the soft topper is i don't leave my random equipment/adventure box in there when i drive to work etc. Which Tbh isn't a big deal - i throw all my gear in when i know i'm going out.

Tho i love the way the soft topper looks, for my needs it is perfect. And the ability to quickly take it off in literally 5 minutes or roll it down when i'm moving large objects is a HUGE plus.

Ask your girlfriend or significant other; "Do you prefer hard or soft?"

Should get you the answer you're looking for:

Transitioned from softopper to hardtop mainly because I didn't like the look of softopper anymore. Really had no complaints of the softopper, held up well in harsh weather and I even slept in it during heavy rainfall/winds. I got the hardtop a week ago so it's a little too early to tell what I love, but I do really like opening it

I think the OP needs to decide if they plan on hauling anything taller than the capabilities of a hard shell. If the answer is yes but still want some kind of canopy, get the ST. If the answer is no, get the hard shell. I have a ST and love the option of quickly having a shell to not having a shell in 5 minutes.

I'm the "friend with a truck", so I've helped friends move even though I have a topper.

Soft topper for sure. Also, be damned whoever painted their chrome supports! :annoyed:
