I need to man-up and admit that I talked a little bit of trash on Nylander last year, when the deal got done but he has played really well. I still would rather have Guentzal but Nylander has been really good. So I wanted to own up to that, since I know that was a topic between the 3 of us last year.

 

He's always honestly been good but Toronto fans just look at goal and pt totals and say HES SHIT! Or HES AMAZING. His game away from the puck is literally 500 times better than Marner and yet people think because Marner will once and a while block a shot (that he likely game the puck away causing) and people love him. Nylander is a good cap hit for what he is

 

Wow. The department of player safety is a joke. I sense politics and star power at play. Benn never even looks at the puck and boards the defense man. Should be at least 2 games IMHO.

I agree. At least a game. He literally passes over the puck to make that hit. And I'm sure there was intent there, since OEL smacked him earlier in the year.

Crazy how that's not a suspension, you don't get much more clear intent then not even looking at the puck. I'd love to hear their discussions, do they openly say they don't want to issue a suspension due to status, or is it just unsaid?

There's clear intent, imo, in the last replay you can see he's not tracking the puck at all.

 

Good Island Boy Jamie Benn barely deserved a minor on that hit , you guys are all drunk
