My first grand dog telling me it’s dinner time.

 

Bear update.

Very little improvement the last two weeks though we did take our longest walk since vestibular syndrome was diagnosed. He did well as we walked about 500 yards. He made a couple of very short retrieves, so he seemed happy. Ears up, tail up. Still have a few more days of Doxy meds left, so I guess I will wait for that to run it’s course before we schedule another appointment. He still has a definite lean to the right as you can see in the pictures. Appetite is still very good. Still letting us know when he needs to go out, or wants treats. And he wants treats all the time. So, that’s good. It’s been one month now, since this health issue began, and I’m trying to be positive that he will improve, but maybe this is the best he’ll get.

On the positive side though we’re still getting tail wags and that makes everyone happy. Speaking of happy, today is Bears Birthday.

He’s 15! Yeah Bear.

In the pictures you can see the pronounced lean. He’s still the same goof ball, though. He has a huge bed but still likes to pile into Sadies small one. Still the best damn dog.... ever.

This is a local article from yesterday. Whomever did this to that dog should have their mouths wired shut until it’s no longer viable for them to be alive and then they should be euthanized. Humanely of coarse

Will have to get one for the hole in my back yard. I just dug a hole by my back fence, put an old tire over it, to keep the critters from falling in. Been there a year- year and a half or so, and no where near full

One of my friends posted a facebook appeal to find a home for two black labs. Brothers, 3 years old. It's all I could do to bite my tongue and not say "me me me".
I'm not sure it'd be fair to Riley although I think it'd be awesome.
