Don't normally do side work in mobile homes, way too much liability. But a friend of our family and retired Marine Corps Veteran on disability with a wife who cleans houses had an electric issue. Blinking lights and power loss equated to loose connections in substandard device installs from years ago. Replaced two double gang switch locations, and two counter serving single gang receptacles upgrading to GFCI receptacles. Existing light over sink has not worked for years, replaced with new fixture I had in my stock free of charge. You would think I gave these folks a pot of gold! Feeling good today!

I was blading off a dirt pad with a motorgrader for tents at NAF El Centro one time while the Blue Angels were practicing. I got buzzed from just above the deck and the grader felt like it went backwards...every window and panel on that machine shook.

Guns cleaned. Ammo packed up and inside so it stays warm. Ready for the load up and shoot tomorrow. Temperatures climbing it is up to 5 now. 5 above. Fahrenheit. Pumped for morning.

Watched everything from Corsair drivers to Hornet drivers before I retired. Vultures row on carriers and other ships up close. Very close.

The most memorable event I seen was when we off the coast of the Philippine Islands (PI) on a tin can. The Navy would fly professors on board mostly retired military to teach classes under the PACE program. Most were Army and gave a perspective most others did not get in a college campus. Is how I finished my degrees. And worth only getting a couple of hours sleep a night for years and was not from partying all night long.

The retired Army prof was a Colonel that was in PI when the Japanese invaded and he was able to escape with his men and avoided the Bataan death march. He taught Western Civ I and II. Topside between the stacks on a DDG next to the ASROC launcher. We were doing AAW exercises and knew aircraft were in the area. They would fly right over the ocean surface (deck) to avoid detection.

We were in class and "Prof" was talking about the Yellow Bastards and the fall of PI in a very personal manor, he was there, and the death march that followed. All of a sudden a Tomcat shot between the stacks. Came at sea level to avoid radar detection and went right over us between the stacks and picked that point to break the sound barrier. The blast knocked his podium and all of us to the non skid on the deck. We all helped the professor up and picked up his papers and he finally said "damn flyboys".

Doug bless you, you did give them a pot of gold. More than the pot they didn't have to piss in before you showed up.

My first home was a single wide purchased when I got married and transferred out of Lancaster to the Tidewater area. Got it from a first class in Carlisle, yeah I know wrong side of the Susquehanna but price was right and the Navy moved it for me. Wasn't going to live in on base housing they were\are horrendous in the Navy. Ships and aircraft take up most of the budget. So ended up down in Currituck, NC on 2.5 acres of land with waterfowl in the front yard from the Sound and deer in the backyard from the great dismal swamp.

Monday ordered my first set of motorized blinds. Will replace all of them on the front of the house so that I can program them to lift and close, along with the lights on and off, for when I am not in the area. And replaced most of my lights with LED smart home aware lights. Have come a long ways. But something to be said for a double wide sitting on a full basement and mostly level flat living at this point too. In 2 different locations.

Caught the Blues over on the River a couple of years ago. Was really surprised to see they are now using the Hornets instead of the more maneuverable trainers they used to and always would see at home field in Pensacola Fl. Apparently they don't have any issues flying he Hornets for air shows LOL. Didn't go to the airfield in La Crosse thought about where they were flying and went to the bluffs above the river where I figured the squadron had to turn. Had the best seat in the house.

Back in 1982-83 at MCAS El Toro and right around lunch time the CO of MAG 11 That had F4 Phantoms challenged the CO of MAG 13 that recently got new F/A 18 A model's . They both took off and did a mock Dog fight over the base pushing ea aircraft to its limits

This went on for over a half hour with high speed passes and I don't think anyone on the base wasn't working and watching the free air show
