You didn't quote a post, so it is hard to tell what discussion you are basing this on, but FOB is only 1.05 for now.

I'm jonesing for some 2.0 FOB action.

Just basing it on the discussion on the last page about 87 base vs 91 base vs 91 FOB. But from what you are saying it sounds like for 1.05 2.0 Beta (latest release) FOB is not an option.

Ah! The Betas are only available for folks with TSB tunes (04B13 and 04A71). Most folks jumping in, like @ArmoredDucky123 , can only use 1.05 tunes.

For Beta, other than select tune testing, all that we have is on that Beta page. The Betas are definitely nice, but they aren't FOB for me.

Alright thanks for clearing that up. I loved 91 FOB so maybe i'll flash back to that.

No problem. For city, suburbs, and traffic, I am mainly in the bottom end of the rev band where that big FOB torque bump really helps. I did a couple thousand miles on the Betas but went back to FOB in October and am just waiting for the full version.

Although, I did get a DFCO test file working with OVT. That code stuck after reflashing FOB. What a nice combo that is! Cut in is a bit lower than current for 1st gear and just above idle for all the rest. I could almost be happy for life with this setup, but the 2.0 features that have been discussed have me excited for the drop.

As a newbie here , I feel honored to be quoted ;-).

Just flashed my truck to the 1.05 87 FOB and honestly....kinda liked the base tune better lol. FOB is a lot more of a consistent power band from low end to top end(obviously) but didn't seem to have the same low end pep like the base tune did.

Just a little over a quarter tank of 89 left then I can play around with the 91 tunes.

So happy I bought the tune. This is honestly how the truck should have driven straight from the factory. I'm even getting better MPG now than I did with the stock tune and I have by NO means been keeping my foot OUT of the pedal.

That's the beauty of these tunes. You have several to decide what you like.

Also, you do not have to wait for an empty tank. Octane numbers on pumps are minimum average. So, if you have a bit of 89 and fill up with a lot of 92, you can end up with at least 91. Do the ratios to figure it out.

For me, with about 4gal out of 21.1 of 87, filling up with 92 will at least give me 91.

I can only get 91 around here. I really try not to get lower than a quarter tank so was thinking around an 1/8th I would fill up with 91, drive about another 1/8th then flash to 91. Only a little over 3000 miles on my truck, Still trying to baby it a touch. Think I would risk ping with this plan?

    duh..

The problem with newbies, you see, is that you give them the answer...then they ask the question.

Sorry, too tired to get into the math that deep, but with a quarter tank of 89 and three quarter tank of 91, you will have a full tank of 90.5, minimum.

There is nothing wrong with dropping down to the end of the tank. Been doing that all my driving / riding life.

If you are concerned about the Taco, under octane and a 91 tune is way worse than filling up with 20gal or more.
