Taco Lean Increase

Recently noticed a noticeable increase on the drivers side lean, at least 2-3in. I have a medium Dakar pack in the rear and 885s up front with the spacer. Anything I should look for in specific? Took a quick glance and everything is in place and ride is fine. Thanks for any advice.

Passenger: 24.5
Driver: 22.25

Front is pretty even and ride it fine...

 

The pack is probably junk at this point if there is THAT much lean.

The only other thing which you could be looking at is body mounts, but I doubt they are bad enough to the point where they are causing THAT much lean.

 

Measure the distance between the top of the leaf springs near a u-bolt to the bottom of the frame.
This will at least give you an idea if the height difference between sides is due to the leaf springs or something else like the body mounts.

 

Yeah I remember hearing about this. Fortunately I am the original and used Headstrong. Will need to make sure somehow I guess...

 

Forgot to mention the measurements are from under the fender to the center of the wheel. Will take a look at this distance too.

 

Funny, I too noticed a big drop on the driver side that started about a 2-3 months ago. I was just going to suggest measuring between the top of the axle tube and the bottom of the frame rail. I did this on both sides and I'm 1/2" lower on the driver side.

 

If I remember right, mine was 11.75 and 11.25. Which dakars do you have? I'm on the Cs047's for a few years now. Wondering if you have the same and how long you've had them.

 

On the dakar leafs they have 3 ratings painted on top of the leaf. + , - , 0.

+ = over spec
- = under spec
0 = at spec

Mine arrived 1 at 0 and the other at +. I installed the + on the driver side as that side is heavier on a taco. I got perfect side to side lift. I would check the top of your leafs and see what spec you have and on which side.

 

how long have you had them? sorry you're going through this. I just installed the medium duty leaf pack about 2 months back. just checked mine and both have a - symbol on them. guess that's a good sign.

Thanks! Triple check this when installing them, just checked again. + is on the Driver Side and 0 is on the Passenger Side.

I’m at 1/2 also, I believe. Even with 1/4 inch difference in my coilover adjustments.

I wonder if it's the newer leaf springs OR the 2nd gen ones because my 1st gens haven't sagged unevenly. They do have that beautiful S-arch like @Red Baron loves on his truck, but are holding the weight of the camper and I don't have any bro rake.

 

I know I gave the OG pack still with out the add a leaf they offered for more weight capacity, and these things have almost 115k on them.

@Voltron4x4 you don't have a blown shock somewhere or possible broken main leaf do you, I should also ask is your lean only in the back of the truck?

 

Yes, only in the rear. Will double check the front but can't visibly see a difference. I'm not sure its the shock, it looks to be fine and the ride is the same. I was thinking the leafs were the issue since the shocks don't give any lift....
