Yup.. No personal responsibility these days, always someone else's fault.

Yeah you should be able to pop the large sent out easily. The little puncture dents will stick around but it'll be a lot less noticeable and no need for a bedside.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Sorry this happened bro, I know the feeling. I had a similar thing happen to me. A close friend of mine ended up rear ending me cause he was just following to close to me. Slid right into the back of my Landcruiser, which then was a stick bumper. My buddy did offer to pay, but I was going to replace it with a steel one anyways. I did read him the riot act though, as to how shit goes wrong out here. Got to take things slow.

already pulled the cubby in the bed and popped the big one out. The little one right next to the tail light is the sucky one

Right? That’s probably my biggest aggravation. Yeah, got it out by removing the cubby in the bed and pushing it out. I could probably massage the little ones out with the right tool. The crappy dent is the one right next to the tail light

I appreciate it man. And yeah, absolutely anything can go wrong and it be a shit show for sure

I never mentioned that mine was lifted and they never complained about it.

We had a Trail Premium and loved it! Had everything you are looking for. I believe the Trail Edition Premium (TEP) was replaced with the TRD Off Road. We traded it because we had kid #3 and no way are 3 car seats fitting in the 4Runner. If you think more kids are in the future, I'd probably look for one of those "XP" models that seem to only exist in the Southeast. It's just an SR5, but you get the TRD OR/PRO front grill and wheels as well as the blacked out letters. The reason I'd go with one of those is the 3rd row availability. Even still that 3rd row is small.

I really hope Toyota decides to adapt the twin turbo v6 that is in the Lexus LS to work with the Tundra/Sequoia/Land Cruiser platform. I really wanted one of those instead of the Expedition....but we've been really happy with the Expedition.

Check out one of those paintless dent repair places. They should be able to take care of those pretty quickly and you'll just need to throw some touchup paint on the one by the tailight (which you need to do anyway).

2 kids will be our limit so the 3rd row seating isn't on our list. Does the XP models have a sun/moon roof?

is there a trim model that has heated seat, sun roof, but not leather seats?

She really likes this one and it checks off most the boxes, Not sure if we want leather. And we can live with the knob 4wd and not a lever.
2016 sr5 premium. Less than 14k and priced at $33k.
It's spend it's life in FL by the beach so I'm a little worried about salt rust.

The XP model should. I think it is basically a top of the line SR5. If 3 kids is not in the picture, then I'd go with a Trail Edition Premium, TRD Off Road, or PRO model. Those all have the manual xfer case instead of the electronic switch.

I have not. I'm not nearly as familiar with the Ford as I am the Toyota. Pretty sure my wife will kill me if I modify the Expedition. So where do I start?

It concerns me when there are no pictures of the inside, but this might be another case of the dealership not knowing what they have.

    https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for...ode1=TOYOTA&modelCode1=4RUN&clickType=listing

If it has leather, it's a premium and they only have it listed as 4WD...

Here's one that already has a lift and wheels: https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for...ode1=TOYOTA&modelCode1=4RUN&clickType=listing

^^^ I can tell by the seats that it isn't a "premium" so another case of them being confused.

The manual shift case isn't really a priorty. I think i'm learning that if i she wants a sun roof and heated seats it needs to be a premium trim level but that will also come with leather seats.
    Sound about right?

    LOL.

Technically, even the premium models don't have leather seats. IIRC, Toyota calls it something like Softex, which is a faux leather.

Having had kids in a truck with cloth seats and the 4runner with "leather" I would advise heavily toward the leather. It is black so it won't show everything, and it will be easier to clean.

Dang that sucks man. You can probably just pop those larger ones out with a heat gun and the backside of a screwdriver. Thats what i did to my fender after my accident lol. But yea i know its not pretty bu you can probably make it less noticeable for a bit until you replace it. I would have been pretty pissed though lol.

This is good info and advice. Thanks. We drive our cars forever. Last 4runner I had was my dads, then mine so it was with me for 31 years. We were just worried about leather cracking over time. Her xterra has the cloth off road seats and is 15 years old and her seats still look new minus the dog hair. So that's why we like those type of seats. I guess if we get leather and they start to crack years down the road, she will be getting so wet okoles then

I had leather in my Acura and have it now in our Caravan. I wanted leather in the Taco, but was happy to not have it as well. I think with the cloth, there's always the option to get quality covers down the road. That said, if you get one with leather and not end up liking it, there's a good chance you can find someone to swap seats with.
