I didnt get a title for the bike. So tonight at work ill be researching how to apply for an abandoned title. Hopefully wont be too much $. The frame and vin seem to be from the WR, so hopefully later, the insurance wont be that much

Got a text at 2 pm saying they were waiting for confirmation and would update me soon. It’s now about closing time for them in Chicago and haven’t heard back. Guess I’m not getting my bike this weekend

Balmy 41 degrees here but oh so sunny, took the '81 CB750 out on a cruise through the farm roads.

Another perk for Montana. Permanent registration for motorcycles and trailers. Pay once and then never again. Too bad I sell motorcycles so fast :annoyed:

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
You bastard. Have a ball and take a few pics so we can live vicariously thru you.

When I got my CB750 from my brother he couldn't find the title (he had bought 5 barn finds from the same guy about 5 years prior to transferring it to me). I did some searching and found a thread on DoTheTon that suggested applying for a non-resident tag from Vermont. It's been a while, so I don't remember all of the details, but the process included filling out an application for the registration and having local LEO run the VIN and certify it wasn't stolen. After getting the VT title and tag, I transferred the title to Florida. I was working for NASCAR at the time and wasn't making much money, so the process had to have been pretty cheap. I think it was around $50 for the VT title.

Ill look into this. From my research so far, the abandoned title from Va takes 15 days to send a letter to the DMV record owner of the vin, and then 15 days to issue a replacement title for auction. Then i dont have to actually auction it, and id have a title. I think its $25

That sounds a lot easier. I know I had to jump through a bunch of hoops because Florida...

Still no damn update on my bike... apparently they’re trying to arrange delivery and checking logistics on which company to use... I feel like they should have done this I dunno, maybe sometime earlier this week so it would have been ready to go as soon as they received the paperwork...

It’s been 24 hours. I was under the impression when I talked before to them that as soon as they received everything back from me they would be ready to ship. They had a week to coordinate the shipping logistics before they got the papers back.

the big issue is I have to wait until next weekend now to take delivery
