Nah, if you listen and apply their fundamentals and teachings you'll do well. I scored my rifleman my second day of my first one by focusing on trigger squeeze and good sight focus, and my last one I scored my distinguished by getting anal on my positions and NPOA. All on an iron sighted Marlin 60 with a 239/250. My next plans are to put an AR together to shoot for known distance qual and hopefully a perfect 250 on the short course.

Primary arms has a 12% off sale right now. Ended up picking up a BCM 11.5” enhanced lightweight complete upper with m-lok rail, BCM m16 BCG, BCM gunfighter charging handle, and some magpul mbus sights for the .22 upper I have.

Has anyone ever purchased an upper from Delta Team Tactical and their “budget builds”? I’m trying to figure out an upper, and the cost of these are $120-$150 which is better/cheaper than I’ve found anywhere else. However I don’t want to buy junk either.

    Yeah.
Haven't purchased from them, but those appear to come without the BCG and charging handle, so there's a little bit more to spend to actually complete it. Google Davidson Defense and think about it a bit longer . . .

I used to be the head of the firearms department at a Cabela’s. One thing I learned is some of the budget build guns are the first to have failur to feed and extract.
They would come back and selll them back to us and after we bought them they would then tell us that the firearm was a POS!

    This and that...
Anybody else waiting on inventory to be restocked for some of these high end manufacturers? I know Radian who makes my lower constantly sells out but regularly get them back in after a month or so. But some of these brands I've been waiting several months, Lantac is on the list for a stripped upper. Last I heard from them was by Shot Show... Curious what takes them so long and they have other rifles that have been advertised for longer and have yet to go on sale. Their Onyx rifle has been a tease for what seems like a year. Cant even find it on the website unless you search directly for it.

    :notsure:

If you want budget items, PSA is as low as I can recommend. I've dabbled in cheaper, it never seems to run.

I've always heard good things, and mine has run well. I suppose that does make them the Highpoint of the AR space, doesn't it? Acceptable quality, low price.

Pretty much the definition of high point soooo... Both occupy a market space at the very bottom while running well for the most part/for a short time.

I'm really curious why you say short period of time, I've never seen a torture test of either to try to push it for a high round count. I've seen hipoints spiked on rocks til they break, but not endurance tested, nor have I seen PSA AR's tested the same way. Got a link to enlighten me?

I mean, if you wanna run the risk of an out of spec barrel, improperly installed parts, and possible multiple trips back before ultimately getting a replacement

If theres even a shred of "I may have to use this to defend my life or someone elses" in your thought process...then spend a bit more

If you're just buying because you want an AR and its gonna be a range toy only and never anything more...then by all means

There are plenty of other manufacturers out there who make quality products for reasonable prices with out all the possible problems...you dont need to spend BCM or Larue prices to get decent reliable quality

You have to remember, theres 2 tiers of PSA rifles

Their house products and then the ones with the CHF FN barrels....2 totally different rifles...the cheap ones arent FN barrels but the ones they send out to influencers for testing are

    Yeah.
They had that same lower at my local gun shop. Maybe I should go back and buy it for a future build . . .

In comparison to a well made AR, everything PSA will not last as long: staking, finish, assembly (parts coming loose), etc. There's plenty of PSA's that run great (although they're probably shot less than 500 times a year), there's lots of PSA products that don't run right out of the gate. Not an opinion, just the truth.
