Yea it probably could. Check out his build thread, there's a whole lot of thought and ingenuity that went into that.

I don't think it would be terribly difficult to add removable sides that a topper could sit on.

I've been considering it a little bit since my bed can't handle the abuse I put it through. My only concern is that I don't want it any heavier than the current bed already is.

...My loop would take me along an old abandoned mining road high into the Last Chance Range. Along my way, I'd pass through the narrows of a wash and badlands of black shale. I'd find the Last Chance Mine and it's surreal mercury retorts - some of the most interesting mining remains in the valley - and then, I'd skirt along a high ridge past two other mercury mines with breathtaking views of Eureka Valley.

Tacomas didn't have cabin air filters through 2005.

2006 was the first year they put them in the Tacoma, skipping the 1st year of the 2nd generation even for some weird reason.

My dad's 2005 has a cabin air filter. SR5 TRD OffRoad, auto, V6 4x4. Not sure if those options made a difference.

I read a thread on here that they didn't have one initially and a lot of members were making their own, but it may have been just been the early production '05s...they may have added it later or maybe on certain models I'm not sure

It's weird we don't even get one on the later model 1st gens, every early 2000s vehicle I've been in has had one except for our trucks

Yeah could be. But the lense swap shouldn't take more than an hour or so. If you are gonna go that route, let me know and I will send it to you. I could probably just put the butyl in a letter and not cost really anything.
