Am I the only one who feels screwed?

At the dealer today and I'm noticing all the sweet add-ons that the new 09' Tacoma's are getting standard now.

Stability control, side-airbags, rearview camera, the list goes on......

Granted I know that trucks change year to year, but this seems like a BIG change that we (2005-2008) got the shaft for!

    A few bolts are different.
It's just vehicle evolution. This happens with every auto maker.

I just bought my 08 and I dont feel screwed. Do I need a backup camera? No, I managed all these years without one. It bothers me that there isn't and aux for the ipod, but I'm gonna get a better radio installed anyway. Stearing wheel controls would be cool, again do I need it? NO. I'm happy as shit with my new truck. Plus I got a killer deal on it.

    I should of added....

I'm not focused just on the accessories like the steering controls, AUX imput and backup cameras,

but, when they make Stability control and side curtain airbags standard now, that pisses me off.

Whats next? 5.7L Tundra motors? 6speed automatics? Power retractable windows? Shit, I could go for hours.:)

Nay, they need to get back to basics, We bought trucks not Camry's on 285's. Gimme my rough ride and bumbers that can actually take a hit. I would prefer that my truck is built well rather than have the pretty crap that they use to woo buyers nowadays. Everything else can be added

I would like my sliding back glass to be electric. I can't reach it from the front of the DC.

    Here's all the new stuff.;)
The backup camera is kind of a gimmick unless maybe if you tow to hook up.

    Nothing at the moment
The back-up camera isn't that great, especially backing up at night because the small screen makes it too bright to actually use your rear view mirror. Only helps me so that I don't back into the fence when I get home. I know driving school says that you should turn your whole body and physically look out the back window, but driving trucks and only having side mirrors, I've gotten quite used to backing up without having to turn and look behind me.

I have an 07 and would have liked to have the AUX input for the stereo and sliding glass rear window... which bot are available for other toyota vehicles of the same year.

Truck been out 5 yrs. They got to evolve to stay competitive. There's always something better coming out.

Heck, be glad you got an old-school truck. You are in control of your actions and dont have toggle safety nanny buttons and put up w/warning lights/buzzer keeping you in line. See how much of the 09 manual devoted to the new safety stuff...I see more dealer visits in the long haul.
