Why it makes no sense to lease a truck, if you're going to use it as a truck.

Anyone that thinks they're going to repair this with a fiberglass tub repair kit and some flat black spray paint from Lowes is nuts. It won't look pretty at all.

It might be cheaper just to throw a bed mat in it and hope for the best during lease turn in.

Take the chance and the pay twice as much for the repair to the leasing company.

I would buy a bed mat and throw over it before I turned the truck in after the lease is up.

I think there’s more to the story. These threads are always suspect to me. Beat the shit out the bed in my 08’ and never had this issue. That includes concrete blocks and logs, so not sure I buy the “bump” being only a bump.

Agree. Not the end of the world, but if I’m just browsing to kill time, should still be an interesting story.

    Good luck with that.
I have carried everything from firewood, camping equipment to Motorcycle's through 11 different states. Nothing like that has happened to me.

Same. Not much in the gen3, but the gen2 carried so much nonsense.

Agreed, I moved an entire household over 2 days, stacked up everything. No problems.
Did OP jump his truck? JK.

Why did Toyota go to plastic beds anyway? The way they should be used they will all be broke one day!

Probably because the alternative is inner beds rusting through and getting dents. I'd prefer traditional double wall steel but the inside of the bed on my previous truck was beat up, which I don't miss.
