Thankfully the "mining" crazy has died significantly for the consumer type hardware so prices dropped a ton.

Yep. Going in a bit blind. Only as good as my research, help, and the 20000 opinions on the inet.

I gets the trident neo specifically works better with the new ryzen 3rd gen stuff than the trident RGB (also ryzen specific) stuff. Notably the Temps natively keep lower.

I run non Ryzen ram. It's not necessary but you'll be able to overclock it more if you want because it'll be Samsung B die ram.

something that's all glass so you can show off the rbg. I personally have the rosewill cullinan. cheap, good airflow and small enough that it fits on my desk but big enough you can stuff 2 2080ti's in it

Gamers Nexus does some good case reviews. Bit long winded (for th eufll reviews). But they have a Best of 2019 video that might be worth watching and help you decide. Then you can watch the full review video if you want

I guess my biggest thing is at what price point should be targeted and what brand for something of quality

Haven't updated in a while, but picked up a RTX 2080 because my wife needed my GTX 1080, and my oldest son needed her GTX 970. That means we still have a 660 Ti that will go in my youngest son's first real build or some other as yet undecided application. So far I have not been able to make the 2080 even grunt a little, but Red Dead Redemption 2 is supposed to be capable of challenging it, so probably picking that up this weekend.

The sort of 80-120 range will get you a nice case. It really comes down to what you want in a case. Theres nice cases at 50 bucks but they might not say be good for watercooling. Something like a Lian Li 011 Dynamic is pretty much built for water cooling...though air still does well.

As for brands...Lian Li is the only one i really say all their stuff is good. (IMO). Other brands one case might be good but another is meh.

I absolutely love my Cooler Master xb evo. It's aesthetics are an acquired taste, though.

A good cheap simple case is the Corsair 275R. I liked building my personal rig in one.

RDR is just like GTA 5. Horribly optimised for Windows so it runs like garbage no matter how much horsepower it has lol. I mean sure the 2080 is good for it but good luck pushing into triple digit frames.

Might be time for a new build.
The only thing I added since then were the 2×1080's.

Was a great build and had lots of fun. My previous build before this one was an AMD FX-55 build. If that tells you anything.

Xbox is starting to die. Timing couldn't be more perfect with this build.
