    Hey TW,

I'm BigFootJim, and finally joining the forum after lurking a while. I've got a 2019 TRDOR DCLB in QS, purchased the Tuesday after Memorial Day 2019. She's got almost 20K on the clock, and the following mods:

SnugTop Rebel with an UpTop Alpha eX
EE 3TPAM holding a Samsung tablet, inReach Explorer+, and a RAM X-mount for the cell
Remote start & power locking tailgate.
All the little things like interior LEDs, console & glove box organizers, etc.

Pending upgrades (some waiting on time, others funds):

    OME BP-51 w/ SPC UCAs
285/75R16 Wildpeak A/T3W (wish they made a pizza cutter 255/85R16) on ATX ax201s
    UpTop Alpha Double Cab
Rear seat delete (MOLLE panel, fridge mount, storage, etc.)
    Custom bed box/drawers
    Installation of CMX760 & FT-8800 radios
Exterior lights, armor, this, that, where'd all my money go?!?

    thx,
    bfj

Thanks for the welcomes guys; the forum and users have been a priceless source of information. I'm not a social person by any account, and as an engineer, am a true believer in RTFM. So I'm more inclined to read as much as possible, and only post up when I have a question that I haven't been able to locate a reliable answer to, or when I'm certain that I can provide that reliable answer to someone else. Honestly, I'm building my truck to get further away from people more often - I'm certainly a prime candidate for the 40s/50s Get off my lawn thread. That said, if anyone has any TW etiquette pointers that aren't outlined in the TOS, etc., I'd be happy to know them. I recall reading that this forum is still privately held, which is amazing in its own right, and allows quite a bit of freedom to the operators and users. I've seen a couple other forums get swallowed up by media companies and turned into a nanny-state of one continuous commercial after the other, so would like to do my part to keep the place open.

    thx,
    bfj

    hi bfj,

I’m waiting for my SnugTop Rebel to arrive, and am also looking into the UpTOP overland ex. How difficult was it to install? Got any photos of it that you can share? Thanks!

Apologies all, between my aging father, clients, and the CV, I have been running non-stop. The few moments of free time I have had were spent away from my workstations, and other tech, in Anza Borrego or Big Bear (my back yard) to stay sane during the CV show. Here's my truck as she sits today:

I installed the BP-51 (and SPC UCAs, thanks to Marie at HeadStrong, highly recommend them), Wildpeaks, and wheels the weekend before all the CV stuff kicked off. I've got a box of interior and exterior goodies sitting in my living room to install, but am waiting for a few more items to become available as I only want to gut the interior once for wiring, switches, mounts, etc. That's not a fun bit of work in my book.

Maybe too late, but the install was smooth, and those guys are great to deal with (top notch customer service). I will be ordering their rack for the cab just as soon as they release their snork. The only issue I have seen with the rack is the fact that the Rebel's roof curves, and the rails along with it. This results in the rack and associated hardware tweaking the rails up a bit, potentially allowing water to enter. As soon as I install the Alpha on the cab, I'll have a buddy machine some spacers for the rear that match the angle of the rails and height of the cab rack.

    thx,
    bfj

Thanks for sharing. I installed my eX this weekend, and noticed that it’s not level with the Bravo. Additionally, the rails now seem to be bowing from the mounts. May need another solution for the spacers...

No worries. Those are different spacers than I received with my Alpha. Mine are square, approx 1.5", and maybe 1/8-3/16" thick, so the bow is a bit more pronounced. You might try finding a similar sleeve at a hardware store, and grinding a bevel on the ends so as to get that plate to sit flush to the track in its intended position. At least, that's where I would start if I had those spacers. Hell, I may even try that before having something machined.

    thx,
    bfj
