Has anyone gotten heated seats from Katzkin? If so, do you like them? How well do they work?

I've been thinking about getting them but I want to know that they work great. They say on their Tacoma page that they install them and that they're protected by their 3-year warranty.

I'd love some feedback from people who have gotten them.

Also, if anyone would recommend going with a different company for heated seats and leather I'm all ears.

    Thanks!

I also wanted Tekstitch but when I inquired I was told that it was not available for the 2nd Gen Tacomas. I believe it is because Tekstitch came out after the cut patterns for the 2nd gen were already developed. @jhuey8947 said that he has even tried to do a custom order at extra cost and Katzkin would not do it.

Yes. Everything Katzkin does is pattern specific. As mentioned I’ve tried to pay a walk thru fee to make this happen and it’s just not available. And to answer a few of the questions above I’ve either distributed or installed over 1200 of Katzkins heaters and experienced just (2) faulty switches over that period. I’ve also distributed other brands of leather interiors and in my opinion the craftsmanship and MORE importantly the customer service in the event of an issue is unbeatable. Hope this helps.

Wow that sucks! I understand it but it sucks. I asked them through their website chat and confirmed it. They install leather with other patterns but not Tekstitch according to the chat lady and their website: https://katzkin.com/product-options/

I have a 3rd gen so I'm fine but I hope this is helpful to others.

Yes! The dealership installed them for free. Part of our negotiations. #winning.
The next step (happening next week or the week after) is getting the dash and door panels to match. Can’t wait. :)

i got a set like these, just without the diamond pattern (Dealership paid for them) so I didn’t want to pay extra for the diamond pattern. I’m happy with them. I just posted pics. worth it. Do it. And go orange.

yes! Thank you :) I’m enjoying them very much. Do you (or anyone) know if it’s difficult to install just heaters to the seats after the leather has been installed? I want hearing seats, but didn’t want to pay dealership prices.

Not hard at all. You will obviously have to remove the seats. Then you could just remove half the cover to adhere the pads. You would have to do this on both the bottom cushion and leanback.
Both pads then plug into wiring harness that then plugs into switch. From there you just have a Red (acc 12v) and a Black (ground) wire to contend with. I typically just T-tap Red wire into the positive side of the 12v outlet and ground under the seat.
Switches are just a 7/8” drill able to mount.
You will however need some hog rings and pliers to reinstall leather covers.
    Hope this helps

Thank you! That’s really great news. Harder question, how much and how do I buy just the heating units?

I use/distribute Katzkins good Gentherm heaters. Plan on $120/pair, $15 for pliers and rings and $20 to ship. Let’s just call it $150

So $150 shipped for everything I’d need for both front seats? Seems legit. Do you still sell them? Also. Pliers? Like the switch?

This looks awesome. How much does this set up run? I have the OEM leather but not impressed with it at all.
