yup. The trick to that is to remove the 90* barbed fitting from the Core base unit, install it on the line with everything removed, then jamb the barbed fitting back into the little grommet on the base after the shifter is in place.

    Silence?

No, the shifter is actually quite a bit louder than anticipated. Truck only has about 150kms total on it, so hopefully the driveline noise transferred through the shifter will decrease with break in. Some sound deadening wrapped around the stick and under the console might be in order. That might be why the oem stick is so damn thick. Harmonics

The was quite the air pressure different when that line disconnected. Not sure if it was vacuum or pressure.

The slight whine of the shifter combined with the 3500rpm power surge REALLY helps me imagine I’m boosted!

I'd say mine is pretty loud. Not damn loud but not slightly loud either. I may just need fluid change

In your picture you posted. The reciever of the shifter foot shown looks like it's broke or something inside it? Is that just some optical illusion?

Curious why you choose this over the URD short throw? How long have you had this? What benefits have you experienced vs stock?

I have one in my taco and it's the entire shifter. knob, stick, and base, down to where the shifter base bolts to the trans. You get a much more direct and solid shifter. I also had one in my Chevy k1500 it is a phenomenal shifter

I believe that piece is cast to allow oil to splash and drain out the bottom rear of the cup. The light I was shining accentuates the casting/machining.

@St.Germain can certainly weigh in on this.

Ever thing I read lead me to believe the Core shifter was slightly superior. I picked this one up on marketplace, practically brand new, for a nice discount.

Shift throws are greatly reduced. Even shorter than Marlins short shifter I had on my 2000 4runner (R150f).

I’ve only put about 40kms on it since install. ADM plus OVT will be icing on the cake.

ya mine is loud, much louder at times and silent at times. i think temps are the deal.

anyway the two shifters are totally different. the URD is basically a sightly tighter version of stock. it's good in the beginning then degrades and is essentially stock but shorter. it was better than stock but weak sauce. not a fan after say 12 months. too soft and wonky. i have a stock shifter with URD on it available if anyone wants it, about 2 years on it.

the Core is a single piece solid shaft so is much firmer, less degradation, and a lot more NVH. but if you like it clean and mechanical, this is the one.

it's so mechanical that i replaced my 700g knob with one under 200g. it has slowed down my shifts significantly, because i don't like rushing through mechanical linkage but prefer to ease through it without force. has a bit of a bolt-action feel and has stayed clean in a few months of use.

also the shifts are quite short on the Core which allowed me to run an extension and still have good ergonomics.

NVH was the acronym I was looking for! Hah (noise, vibration, harshness)

So weirdly enough, the noise increases when I’m holding the knob..

Ok folks don't get mad if this has already been asked and answered. I do my best to follow this thread and I haven't seen it answered but any official release date on 2.0?
