I hunted not far from there years ago.
Not far from the Joe's Brook covered bridge.

You can still tune into the station. Just be prepared for Christian Talk Radio.

Yeah they got sold to contemporary Christian networking. I giggled. But then realized it’s my generations fault. I haven’t listened to the radio in years. Spotify with downloadable (wife can expense the membership fee as a fitness instructor woohoo!) for at least the past 5 or so years. Us youngins are doing that instead of listening to the radio nowadays.

You have 4 hours and 15 mins. Then it is done.
Listen now Sho and Karry are hosting.
Lots of past performers are dropping by, confessing.

Been a rough day listening to their goodbye. AAF has been such an influential part of life for the last 25+ years. Just so happened that the first rock show I ever went to in 1997 was sevendust and Lajon called in as my wife and I were heading to lunch at Start Line.

I grew up on WBCN which has now been gone for almost 10 years I think. That was a great station with a lot of history too. Granted Toucher and Rich are still on, but it’s not nearly the same as it was at their best on WBCN

As well as WBRU in Providence. I never really liked the rock WAAF played and was more into what WBRU played, at least until they went full brown jacket indie rock (I'm looking at you Cage the Elephant, Black Keys, Tame Impala, etc, etc). 92.9 wasn't bad for finding new music, but they took the WBCN route of Nirvana, ACDC, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Nirvana, Nirvana, Nirvana. I didn't mind their typical radio hits the first 1,000 times I heard them in the week, but if I heard Lake of Fire one more time I'm going to hammer sharp items into my hears.

I did the punk / emo / screamo thing all through college and there was a time that WBRU / WFNX played that type stuff. I can occasionally find stuff to listen to on XM in the truck, although I wish Toyota used the antenna that got the full range of channels as the Punk channel in the 300s would be nice. I never really liked the post nu-metal harder rock stuff.

Picked up a 2003 today down in NJ. 128k miles and new frame, springs, fuel line and a few other things as of 2017. Drove it home and it did great. Gonna change all the fluids, make sure everything is 100% then do a little lift/tires action. Want to keep it pretty stock though otherwise.

Yeah, that does suck. I wonder what the final song that will be played is going to be.
I gotta get up at 4:00 AM , so I won’t hear it.

Played some great stuff today. Made my day go by nicely, but in the same token it was a bummer. Last two days have been long ( 13 + hours but the send off has helped with it

man I forgot about fnx pre country. I like country now but like. The hell happened. I used to listen to storm and birdsy all the time way back when. Now it’s the bull or something. Like I said I like country but even still. It was weird. When I got my first car I went to the radio stations. 101.7 and 100.3 and then fnx. 103.7 I think it was. Rock 101 and HEB. Then fnx and it was country it threw me for a loop.

the last bastion of my radio childhood is CYY in Maine. 94.3 that was my high school time up in Maine. Working at the pizza joint in OOB jamming out to CYY and learning more French than a class could ever teach me.
