I think your best and possibly only real option which won't align with your #2 but still looks good on the truck is spending another $400 and just getting the Diamondback. It definitely outperforms every other brand in all of your other priorities in that list though.

I just installed mine last weekend and it really is an awesome product.

You can find a used diamondback SE or HD for around that price. I think I paid $700 for a like-new SE and it does all the things you describe. Some of my steelhead boat poles just live back there and are very secure from honest thieves.

+1 on Diamondback. Great secure cover, water tight and looks gnarly.

agree with above, if #3 is actually important to you Diamondback is probably the only way you'll have confidence. definitely not with any of the others.

Easiness to open and close is the most important but also want good quality..any opinions on these?

Extang Encore. It was on my truck when I bought it. Love that cover.

i have one, the Encore 2.0 actually, and i would buy again. it's awesome for my usage. but it is NOT secure at all. but you can open the front & rear flaps independently and lock them down and drive, the front panel doesn't block the rear window, it locks with the ignition key, and you can remove/replace it in about 90 seconds. looks better than the oem one also IMO.

Bakflip G2. Brand new shipped to my door for $680. I did have to work for that deal. And that was for a long bed. My kids (all under 5) ran around on that thing with no issues.

I have put two bakflip MX4 on my work trucks. They look great and are pretty flush. My only complaint is that the hardware for the props backup after awhile, a bit of threadlocker would go a long way.

+1 on the bakflip mx4. Seems like no cover is perfect but it's well within your price range and it has held up well for me for a year so far, very little wear. I leave a toolbox in it all the time and frequently keep my fishing gear/baby gear in it.

Diamondback looks ridiculous and isn't flush at all... lol. To each their own.

I would say pace edwards retrac or Revolver X2. Both flush/metal so you can't just hack and slash in. Retrac you lose bed space though. Revolver is nice because it rolls and you dont have dumb panel sections.

Are you able to remove the cover easy as the oem? I have the oem tonneau cover and I’m looking on getting one of these.

Get an OEM someone doesn't want. Checks all your boxes.

I haven’t tried to remove it ever but I think it was supposed to be fairly easy. but it is a tri-fold for full use of your truck bed, hence why I haven’t removed it.

I have had a lot of use with the oem one as well and that is insanely easy to take off albeit a bit heavy.

I’ve really liked my BAK Revolver X4 and it’s performed better than I expected during the Minnesota winter. Secure, flush, and common enough others are making accessories for Tacos with these tonneaus.
