Another option is a 33/10.5/17 which is very similar to a 255/80/17 (just slightly wider but about identical in height). I have the Kenda Klever RT in that size and came from running KO2s for years. And the Klevers are noticeably better in the snow and ice.

    https://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/...-klever-rt-to-the-test-on-some-arizona-rocks/

The settings on these are so dependent on how much weight you’ve added to your TACOMA, the tires and PSI your running in them, and the springs and leafs your using. Can’t really use what works for someone else because most likely nobody is going to have the exact setup your using and driving in the same terrain and conditions also. Trial and error is going to be what works best to get it where you want it. Took me several adjustments all around but now I’m loving it and don’t miss my Kings or Foxes one bit.

And shout out to ARB. I had a leaking BP51 and I had a replacement in a couple days. Great customer service!

Thinking about purchasing the BP-51 Kit soon with the HD Dakar Pack and SPC UCA’s.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a general starter preload measurement setting on the coils for my truck?
From what I’ve gathered reading I think I will be good with 10-15mm but correct me if I’m wrong.

Up front I’m running a dual battery setup, sliders, lights air compressor and wiring. I’m guessing around 150-200lbs weight added up front. (Without slider weight added)
    (NO bumper/winch)

Rear is where most of my weight is. I’m guess I’m pushing 600+ lbs fully loaded.

planning on running SCS Stealth 6’s with 255/85r16 coppers.

I’m running that setup with 285/70/17 KO2’s. Purchased lift through Headstrong Offroad and had it installed by my tire shop out of the box at 5mm with no spacers. Experienced some minor rubbing off road up front but none on road while running rails/steps, full steel skids, steel rear bumper, and decked bed storage unit. Last year I installed a sso hybrid bumper/10k winch and had pre load adjusted to 13mm per my shops recommendation “just to be safe”, with regards to the rubbing issues. Currently running with about 630 additional pounds.

Still experienced a very slight rub (once) when front passenger side coil is under compression in 3/4 turn position, but only off road. I would say, based on my own experience with similar added weight, that 10-15mm would be appropriate with the dual batt and compressor setup. Definitely 15mm if you add bumper/winch. Only other thing I would look into is the need to use spacers with this kit as I’ve seen others? This kit is made specifically for adding weight up front so I would expect it to be a little stiffer without it. My tire shop also recommended that each time the pre load setting is adjusted that a front end alignment should be done. So I started at 5mm and didn't adjust until I added the bumper and winch then went up to 13mm. Awesome off road suspension, no comparison to the stock suspension. I’ll likely go to 15mm when I have my tires rotated and hopefully that will be my last alignment and be the end of that little rub.

    Thanks for the reply!
I’m thinking I won’t have much Taco Lean since I strategically placed my drawer and water on the passenger side rear corner. I’m not experiencing any lean that amounts to much right now so I’m thinking about not doing a spacer and setting them at 15mm off the git-go.
My tires won’t be as wide as yours. Are you running the SCS Stealth 6’s or equivalent offset wheel?

@2ayne-Ya know, I’m not all that up on offsets and spacing, etc. I’m running ultra maverick 235, 17x8 wheels not aware of any offset, they came with the truck when I purchased it, so I just stuck with them after I had her lifted.

15mm sounds like a good setting to start at, best of luck. I love my suspension I’m sure you will too!

I have the BP-51's and they ride incredibly well.... one thing though.... the front springs dont handle extra weight very well... I have two batteries, BAMF (full) skids, C4Fab front bumper + Winch and the truck looks stock AF in the front and ready to rumble in the back LOL

Gonna have to see about getting stiffer springs, if not, start looking at a different front setup.

These are shitty examples, I haven't taken any proper photos of the truck... But the front sags alot, even after adjusting the pre-load further than OME recommended to try and get that bit of lift outta the front. *** Also, im running 285's now, before someone asks lol***

I did too... reason I went with them.... on top of being really content and impressed with their Regular OME lift

I’ll have to measure the pre-load bits it’s more than the recommended, for sure.... 3/4 - 1 1/8” I believe... I have to double check

Just checked... I’m at exactly 13/16” preload (20.6mm)

Running Wheelers Front Bump Stops and Timbren rear bumps.... thinking of giving a bit more preload and see where she sits / how she rides....

I read somewhere recommend was 15mm max or something like that.... in the instructions.... despite OP posting 20mm recommended for steel bumpers.... I’ll have to double check

Aside from that, I’m way happy with the adjustability and ride

made my own spanner, so adjusting preload is as easy as placing the assembly on a vice and turning the collar with a cheater bar and lube... no spring compressor or shop needed

right on. I’ve thought about raising mine a bit. Mine are at stock height at 5mm pre load. I do have a 1/4 spacer installed as well but I’m completely stock on weight up front. Looks wise I’d be happy at 1/2” - 1” more up front.

Stock preload 5mm with 1/4” spacers on top of both fronts. 0 added weight up front. But do have sliders. Seems like it needs more up front to me. What do u guys think? Rear is medium duty pack.

so youre roughly at 17.7mm total preload and running "33's".... space between front tire and fender is about what i have too... With a F*%# ton more nose weight.... i have way more lift in the rear with the heavy pack... youre truck looks really resally good as is, man!

sorry about that. I meant to say 1/4” spacers. My bad. I’m gonna Edit the post to fix that. Thank you I love it. It’s got a slight rake but not too bad. Will prolly go aluminum skids as I’m not off road too much and it’s my daily driver so shouldn’t affect it too much more up front.

 and yeah, i've got a pretty aggressive rake. But, when loaded up, it all sits pretty damn level with a slight rake. Went shooting yesterday and i was carrying all the steel targets and ammo... Truck was pretty weighed down... she sat with a slight rake. We hit a local OVRA in the area and i was blown away by how well the suspension and the new bumpstops handled everything and how it all felt.

if you havent already upgraded your bumpstops, its def money well spent. worth every penny
