Yeah, that's what I did. I put fresh pads on that one just to last until I can get everything else. No way I'm taking it somewhere with the prices I heard today.

Yeah they are stupid with brake pricing on these things. I told one of the local guys how to change his pads and he did it himself. He was so surprised at how easy it was and what a ridiculous amount they charged for it. He was asking if this sounded like a fair price for a pad change. I was like dude that's like a 30 min job if you're taking your sweet time, don't pay that shit.

Yeah, most things are way easy to do these days especially with forums and YouTube. I was just feeling lazy earlier and I don't have jack stands without borrowing them so I called around. Stealership wanted 282 for just pad replacement. Pep Boys and others wouldn't give me a price without looking at it.

Jack it up and throw the tire and wheel under there. You have $30k jack stands. I do that when I don't feel like getting the jack stands out.

I have a buddy I can borrow stands from, he's been busy today though. I'd get my own stands but they'd have to live in my truck bed...
I just did it carefully with the bottle jack under there. :anonymous:

I use a floor jack when I do mine. Course none of the damn things ever last. This I'm on my 4th one now. Seems like the seals are gone in it too. Wants to leak down and not lift shit anymore. Faaaaack.

I just don't have a place to put a floor jack/stands or else I would. It's such a pain keeping my tools in the bed and having to do work in the parking lot... At least the curb acts as a good wheel chuck..

Yeah, changing companies might not be realistic though. Since I'd lose my vacation. I've got a couple out of state weddings this summer I'm meant to attend.

I wouldn't get more PTO for a good while after starting at a new place though. If I could find something that's within Lockheed though, that'd be ideal.

over the past 20 years, I’ve managed to get disc rotor/pad replacement down to a sub 30 minute science barring no bolts are stuck. Toughest part is bleeding/flushing the fluid when you’re by yourself. Sucks outside in the Snow/wind chills I imagine.

my wife asked me today why my (shitty) HF welder can’t cut cast iron... sounds like a Green light for a plasma torch to me.... stupid me told her my angle grinder can do what she wants me to do...
